Your tone is excellent here, Carolyn in illustrating the joy and sorrow of all of creation's beauty.

The rose metaphor is always effective in delivering the insight that life is both joy and suffering--the thorns indicative of that.

Beautiful job all around and excellent rise to the picture this prompt. :))

    Thanks Gloria,
This is the first I have written for 'picture this,' so your review is especially
helpful to me. It affirms that I may have accomplished what I hoped for. LOL
Thanks so much for your comments.

Well done! I think you have excelled yourself with the creation of this poem. This is truly one of the better ones I've read. I'm a stickler for punctuation though, and it was lacking.

    Thanks Nicole,
I am so very pleased you enjoyed this one. And, wow, look at those stars.
You have made my day. This is the first time I have joined a group, so the
affirmation of quality is so uplifting to me.
I'll take a look at the punctuation, I'm not sure I used any.

Carolyn;
-not only was I entertained but I really enjoyed reading your writing and one of the biggest reasons why because of the fluidity, clearness and easiness of the reading of your writing was phenomenal and so smooth that was like a flowing river. And this was true is because of the iambic tetrameter along with the speciality of the cadence, timing and tempo of the rhythmic balance.
-Also another reason why it was so smoothly done is because the rhyming was not forced nor labored and very contingent to the meaning and concept of each of the lines.
- you did a superb job complementing the picture with your writing and being able to have your writing to be relative to the conceptual theme of the picture in a very metaphorical way.
- Thank you for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you always Carolyn.

    Thank you Alex,
I am so happy you enjoyed the poem, and that it
had qualities that made it worthwhile. The cadence,
iambic tetrameter, as well as timing and tempo could
quite possibly be accidental. LOL But the rhythmic balance,
    yeah, I will claim that.
    Love you Alex,

Carolyn, you did a great job on this picture prompt. I loved your poem, even though I'm not religious. You just did a super job with this write. So sweet and lovely, I really enjoyed reading it. I especially love your whole second stanza wherein you indicate we fail to see the broader spectrum of his care and that God loves us and gives each of us a rose to share.

This is a nicely rhymed poem
for the picture challenge
The rose is indeed a special flower
with blossoms like no other
and spring would be most welcome
after the snow of winter
tears to water the roots
all in the plan
Very well done

As usual, a great interpretation of the artwork! I was wondering if Rose was a person, or a personification, but it became apparent that she was a she. Well done, my friend, this is different again from the other interpretations, the narrative, smoothly scribed, delves into personification and a person, giving its overall affect an interesting flavour, articulate and beautifully scribed in abcb rhyming, great meter, well done, my friend, blessings, Roy
Typo : (A) teardrop slid down Rose(,)s chin?

    Thanks Roy,
Thank you for your kind review. I fixed the nit. :-) Hopefully it is not too confusing to the reader.
I finally went to your own post and saved the picture to my computer so I could access it.
Just don't know if the notification will be correct. Have you fanned everyone on the list?
    Love you, Carolyn

Your words really do bring the picture to life. You capture both the beauty of Gods creations, and you can't get more beautiful than a rose, and Gods love for all his creations. Beautifully written thanks for sharing.

This is a very nice, inspirational, spiritual poem. It speaks a lot of true.

I gave up long ago trying to figure out the who, what, where, and why of God's ways. And just rely on His assistance as we continue on this journey.

Thanks for sharing this. JW

Thank you JW for this lovely review.
Believing in God is the easy part, now trusting Him, (relying on Him)
is a little tougher. It gets better as we stop trying to figure it all out,
    just like you said.
