Hi Carolyn,
A lovely, homily little story, full of beauty of home close relationship and above all faithfullness . Lovely.
I read it with a real wish to see what happens. I was praying that no tragedy came to spoil it.
Very well sustained.

IU love this story very much for the children for not only is it interesting it educational too. The children learn how mothers and fathers take care of each other and most important in raising their babies.
Great read.

I love the way penguins mate for life..I think, they are very sharing in their joint responsibility in their devotion to their chick, I like the way the male, keeps the eggs warm, while the female goes to sea and collects enough food for her mate. Creation is amazing, Gpd displays His love in His creation, but mostly in His Son, does He reveal His great love! Well done, Carolyn nicely constructed story, no spags, well written and described, well done, my friend, blessings, Roy.

    Thanks Roy,
God is amazing. Penguins would never think of cracking the egg before it's time and destroying their precious baby. Will humans ever learn the wonders of creation and appreciate the breath of life that God has given us? I'm so glad you enjoyed this story.
    Love to you and E,

This is a great penguin story. It entertained and informed. I did not know that the male penguins sat on the eggs for two weeks while the female penguins searched for food. I wish all male humans were as dedicated to their children and their wives. You are right. Your story taught "Great lessons on monogamy and parenthood." Thank you for sharing.

Hi, Carolyn

_ Fun story for children, as well as a teaching one too.
_ Nicely composed and presented.
_ It's interesting to sit and watch how animals interact with each other.
_ There used to be a weekly show on Discover channel, I think, and it was all about Meerkats. Cool show. We really enjoyed watching it.

Hello! An entertaining tale you have woven. I would like to comment on two sections: The first is when the penguin says she knew he would be a good husband and father-that is dropped and then never explained. The second is the regurgitation part. It might be personal preference (and the creatures may actually do this) however, for a children's book it might be a feasible option to just have her bring him the fish. But overall I appreciated this tale! Well done.

    Thanks for the wonderful comments.
I thought about just bringing him the fish, but then she has to feed the chick (when it is hatched) by regurgitation, and she has caught enough to feed them for the two weeks that the male will be gone. My little granddaughter said, "Gege, you could say puck, but I like regurgitation better, it sounds more grown up." LOL she is 7.
I can tell you read this with interest and I really appreciate that.
