This is the quintessential understanding of puns! And of course, us writers of poetry are so misunderstood. We just can't help ourselves. A wonderful contribution to this contest and I appreciate now why I've been divorced so often! LOL

Hahaha! Fortunately, my wife pays no attention to me. :)
Thank you so much.

Are you SURE none of this is autobiographical? ;) But no matter, I love it anyway. As my profile says, I am an 'unrepentant wordsmith' so can well appreciate a skillful and witty use of words in the writing of another. I laughed out loud when I reached the end, and I especially loved the 'cork for my assonance'.
Great work!

Pretty creative writing. Guess its not a good idea to marry a write!! Glad it was only imaginary. Great picture to go with your poem. Good luck in contest, Carol

What a creative and funny poem. I thought you did an excellent job of sharing why you divorced a writer. Well deserved! I have no idea what half those words mean! Very creative and funny.

This is excellent and should do well in the How Punny R U contest
You've the the grammatical gamut
I'm glad you didn't go into the colon
that would have been a little messy
Good use of enjambment, the word that is
and alliteration, again the word
Great picture to poem match
This should be a contender
well done

This is a lot of fun. What I'd call Clayton's Smut. which is smut you talk when you aren't being potty mouthed. For instance I was once invited to look at some-one's digitals , but I declined , warning him to keep his hands off my analogue.
I believe you , I DO! that this is not autobiographical. Thanks for sharing Lots of fun cheers Cass
