One thing I like about us Aussies we say it as we mean it . I could!n't agree with you more (brain dead is a great description for this
this wanker) A pathetic excuse for a human and yes it does make one ashamed . I love your apt descriptive Limerick Well done Cheers Christine. Deserves a 12

A highly topcal piece. How could anyone allow this to happen ? The fact that a man can shoot and actually kill a magnificent animal like a lion, defies belief.

Agreed, but sadly it happens thousands of times a year. Thanks for reviewing. Craig.

Bravo.
This was one story that went around the world and highlighted the ego boost that hunters seem to need from killing wildlife. This time it was a famous lion in Zimbabwe, but it doesn't matter which critter copped it, it's still an attempt to make his 'dick ... get ... bigger' at the expense of dwindling wildlife populations. The dentist said he didn't know it was famous. So what? He took a high powered rifle to Africa, paid a small fortune to blow an injured lion away off and then had the temerity to gut it and cut off its head for a photo op and a trophy.
Loved your sardonic limerick. Really hit the mark for me.

Thanks so much for your kind review, and I'm glad that we feel the same way about this revolting incident. If only it were a one-off, but there are thousands every year make the same trip to do the same thing. Your remarks are much appreciated. Craig.

Right on! I disagree with "trophy hunting"; what a farce! And agree that people who do this horrible thing need to prove something about their manhood. I would think acts of kindness would be more manly than shooting a defenseless animal, wouldn't you?
I like the way you say it!

Absolutely. Let's make it a fair fight - take the bow or gun away and see how they stack up. Thanks for your kind review. Craig.

Excellent limerick, being as it is about a tragic topical event and carrying a bawdy humour (which is traditional for many limericks).

I don't know if it's the done thing, but you may be interested in the poem about Cecil, also called 'Cecil the Lion', that I posted a couple of days ago - it's here, if links work, http://www.fanstory.com/displaystory.jsp?hd=1&id=767194
It's got a similar critical use of humour about the dental dick.

Cheers
JD

Thanks, JD, for checking out my limerick, and your kind comments. I don't think there's a problem with mentioning yours, as it's not a contest entry. I hadn't seen it before (just had a quick peek), so I'm going to go read it now. All the best, Craig.

Oh Craig... If I had a SIX... OMG. They would be yours.
This is SO amazing.
Perfect rhythm, and the rhyme... this limerick rules!

Such a tragedy... what happened to Cecil...
and yeah... big game hunters... WTF?
I don't get it.

This is so amazing.
your cadence is impeccable. and the humor, spot on... yet it's so witty, and sharp... bites ... as sharp as... well... ? lion's teeth. yep

Well done,
I'd give it those sixes... damn, but I don't have any more. rackin sackin!

Haha that six means about as much to me as a dead dentist's donger, Cat. What matters is you enjoyed it. The more people laughing at this worm's expense, the better IMHO.

    Thanks again! Craig.
