Carolyn;
what a marvelous written tanka and may I wish you good luck in the contest for this is a very formidable entry.
This imagery splashes with color of a sun setting evening which is demonstratively descriptive and exquisitely expressive throughout. It grasp the essence of a sunset and creates a visualization in the readers mind.
Thank you for sharing and posting this for everyone to read and may the good Lord be with the you always Carolyn.

Hi Carolyn,
I love your Tanka poem for the contest and the picture too.
Both are worthy of a six star rating. I love to read good poetry like this and also like see such wonderful artwork. Does a person have to pay to use FanArtReview pictures? I have never looked at them. I like when it shows the picture alone, like this one, instead of having the printing at the bottom of it. Pictures are much prettier alone.

No, there is no charge for using the pictures from fanart. Go to the writing site, be sure and choose the picture prior to the writing or save it and then retrieve a picture or you will lose what you have written. A bit tricky until you get it but you have a broad selection.
Thank you so much for the wonderful six star award and the affirming comments. Love, Carolyn

Carolyn, I like the use of the word kaleidoscope
in this tanka about the sunset. I do love sunsets
and they are such a reminder of God. I also like
the part ... divinely ablaze with fire.

Carolyn, incredible photo. The swarming of colors. I could see it from your eyes as a kaleidoscope turning. Your warmth of words describes what you saw perfectly. Memories, huh?
Note: sorry about the Cards, but they couldn't advance to the WS. The Yankees weren't there. Maybe next year... JohnnyD

Yeah, bummer on the Cards and Yankees this year. But hey, you can't win them all and we had a season to be proud of anyway. :-)
Thanks John for this awesome review. I miss you, neither of us are writing as much right now, or so it seems. I hope things are well with you my friend. Take care, love, Carolyn

This is a new area for me the Tanka. I love the artwork and the beauty of the poetry. I will have to look this particular style up and give it a whirl myself. Great job! God Bless!

Please do write a Tanka, I enjoy 5-7-7 in Haiku and Senyru form as well as Tanka in 5-7-5-7-7 which is a bit longer. Nothing has to rhyme but always has a line and syllable requirement. I really have fun with them. A good way to start is writing prompts or contest.
Thank you so much for your great and encouraging review.

Hey, Carolyn,
Awesome pix for your Tanka. Your words really emphasize the bright colors of the sunset.
There is something so tranquil about the sunrise and sunset.
Nicely done. Best of luck in the contest.
Cheers & Blessings

Very original using the kaleidoscope to describe the changing sky colors at sunset. Great description! "divinely ablaze with fire" made me think of Moses and the burning bush. Nice flow and great imagery. Good luck in the contest!
