The story of Sampson, from the Book of Judges, I believe. Delilah sure cut him down to size when she lopped of his long flowing locks of hair. But, it's not the first time a woman has managed to bring a good man down, nor will it be the last.
Well done, and an excellent retelling of the Biblical tale.
Good luck to you in the contest. :}

The illustration and last paragraph do not match. The last paragraph makes me think of women in the Middle East. It may be wise to add Galath's name in there. I would toss the last paragraph... but you need a 100 words.
Otherwise, well thought out and clearly written. Good visual imagery. Great story.

I'm not sure what to make of this. Sounds like a pagan ritual with human sacrifice. The main character could be someone who finally found Christianity. Just a thought. It is beautifully written.

This sounds like the story of Samson after his hep air grew back. The thunder must be the warning of what is about to happen to the Philistines. You have captured an important moment in time with depth, understanding and a hint of danger.

and in that moment, killed more Philistines in death, than you did in all your life.
Though he messed up
he did fess up
and God used him mightily

A well told story of Samson's destruction of the idolaters temple. You have to read carefully to realize what you are relating.
