This is a well-penned poem, it is happy they had forty tears together, but it is sad one has to go on alone. Thanks you, for sharing this,my friend~Debbie

The artwork you choose is awesome. It truly sets the mood.
Your poem is heartfelt by many I'm sure .
Losing a love one after so many years. I can relate. Yet God keep us here for a reason and one days it will be our season to be with our love ones.
Thank you for sharing.

A short but meaningful message in this poem. Good read - the tone puts me in mind of W H Auden's 'Stop All The Clocks' - enjoyed the read. Regards Dorothy

A very beautiful poem written about the loss of a partner after 60 years of marriage. I do not think this is biographical, but it is a painful reality for so many at the present time.
Well written
Well done

A strong piece that is effective and powerful without being too strong. I love the picture and the questions you ask. I was moved and feel strongly about this as my mother is about to lose my dad, no real easy answers. Thank you for sharing.

My condolences for the loss of your life partner; your presentation was beautiful. There are no words to mend your heart, only thoughts and memories for you to ponder. Tis a pity we can't go together - still a parting happens to each and every one of us. Be assured you will see her again.

Very powerful message here. Very well thought out and powerfully conveyed. I never know when I read something like this if it is truth our just very empathetic fiction. Nicely done. Keep on living to share that gift of writing.

You do a superb job of showing the emotion experienced after the loss of the wife of 60 years. That is a wonderful history of years spent together. "Clocks stand still" is a wonderful phrase. You will always remember the moment of her passing, and time does stand still. This flows beautifully. There is a sense of dignity about the rhythm. Although filled with grief, the narrator seems reconciled to the loss. judi
