Hi Gretchen,
Indeed, gooey mess is right.
My maternal grandparents used to raise chickens and sell eggs. I remember my grandma sitting in the basement with her little sanding tool, cleaning and sanding the eggs for market. Every once in a while an egg would break in the ole hand. Eeeeewwww!
Really good poem. Good luck in the contest.
Cheers & Blessings

I always wondered if eggs came out looking as perfect as they do in the grocery store. Now I know. Thank you for the great review. Gretchen

This is probably the perfect example of the 5-7-5 acrostic. Elaborate seems like it fits okay. I'm sure this is the final new poem style creation we'll see.

Wonderfully written poem that you entered into this contest. I like the line goes rolling off the table, as an egg easily rolls. Best if luck.

As if a 5-7-5 wasn't hard enough ... why not make it an acrostic. You pulled it off, though. Suggestion: when an egg rolls off the table, don't try to rescue it with your foot!
Good luck!

Very good description of what happens to a raw egg when it falls on the floor. Especially when it has to be so short. Good read and keep up the good work.

This is great! What a return after just reading your story about jack ha! Well done. I need to think about some of these myself. Thamks for the idea. No spags.

Go to Createspace.com. They can help you self publish. A ligetimat publisher won't ask you to front money. Got to watch out for those guys. Anyhow, thanks for the great review. Gretchen

Thanks for the hint will do a search on them too to make sure. I am so upset I nearly got taken in I am more disappointed as I found the ??publisher through an Ad on FS! But I realise we are all different. Glad I was able to read some comments about others experiences with the particular publisher.
Thanks again.

Very clever, but I'm not sure the syllable amount is correct, pretty sure gooey is two. But there is a haiku syllable counter, if you google it, you can check all your words.

I got very confused. I did a 5/7/7. Went back and changed the last line to ... Gooey mess on floor. Thanks so much for catching it. Gretchen
