This is a wonderful entry in this contest Carolyn, and you've formed it so symmetrically well! Good choice of art! This should do well, I love the subject choice! but then what would I know, I rarely do well anyway! Well done blessings, Roy.

I am not sure what they look for in the contest either Roy, I have yet to win one by committee vote. I have won a few prompts etc. However, if what I am going to write falls into a contest time line, I go ahead and enter as it cost nothing. LOL Maybe someday we will both hit it lucky. Glad you liked this one and thank you for the good wishes. :-) Carolyn

Sounds like a wonderful job you have there, Carolyn! Those relics should make for interesting writing fodder. I look forward to reading them.
This was a good entry for the 5-7-5. Great alliteration with "Rare restored relics". I love the picture. That looks like a very old doll. Do you know how old it is?
Best wishes for the contest!

I actually did not get a near date on this one, but will check tomorrow when I go in. She was a sweet piece to work on. I had the privilege of attaching her arms and legs back to the body. We all had a part in getting her fit as a fiddle again. Thank you Connie for your interest. :-) Carolyn

Poem is just as beautiful as the doll. I can see this one in a pale pink and white Victorian style dress, a parasol in her hand and a large matching hat on her head. She is very gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

I think Ms Hamlin has requested a picture when she is re-dressed. I would like to see that myself. Your description of the Victorian look is charming. Thanks for the awesome comments and rating. :-) Carolyn

Porcelain Treasures
Art collector's fantasy
Rare restored relics
I read the story first and your author note. Now the poem. Both were done well. The poem accompanies the photo perfectly and leaves more to the imagination.
Nicely done, Carolyn. John

Carolyn, a very well expressed piece of poetry. This 5/7/5 celeb requirement that you have written is not only expressive but very illuminative and where the creativeness is not just the poem but the actual work on doll from the beginning of conception to the final product That is a beautiful workmanship Of a reconstruction. Thank you so much for sharing imposing this to make the Lord be with you always.

This is a beautiful piece of writing that the author has created in this post. This is indeed a labour of love and as they say do something you love and you will never work a day in your life.

Hey, I like that, do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life. That's how art is to me. When I paint, draw or restore broken treasures I am completely content. I also teach children's art classes about seven months out of the year. So I do stay busy. Thank you for your comments and for liking this one. :-) Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
That must be a fun job to have. You and your team fixed the doll very nicely. Of course, like you say, she does need clothes now. Your poem about her is written well and is an enjoyable read. What talent you have!
