Cannot vote often just once per contest, I think - unlike politics. . . I do not enter many, my writing time is limited, so. . .

Just once per contest.. often.. meaning each contest in which you have opportunity to vote. I have started entering more, it gives a jolt to the brain to write to a particular subject or form. Thanks so much for this great review and rating. I always enjoy your comments. :-) Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,

Voting is great, however, in this sense, I meant our contest voting booth. Choose a favorite and vote. As for the other kind of voting, political and such, I know what you mean. But I usually do get there. Thanks Kat. :-) Carolyn

I am surely not the person to judge on technical terms, but I see the truth in the poem. As a visual artist, writing in foreign languages which are only self-educated, I have firsthand experience. The voting is surely of benefit for the author because he/she learns how others see the work of literature or art. It may seems odd; but I believe the voter has the greater benefit, because in order to vote one has to familiarize oneself with the work of literature or art and yes writing reviews. We can learn technical skills in school, but the aesthetical and emotional skills are better learned hands on because that comes only with experience. Each review and therefore each vote is a giving and taking because each side is learning.
I am amazed how you are able to fasten such a complicated theme in a relatively short, easy to understand poem. I am honored that you chose my picture as illustration. Thank you.

You are right. Voting is fun, just do it. The only problem is I have so much on my plate at the moment I don't have the time to take part in contests. But I'd love to.

I use this one to edit my material for sending in to the BBC Writers Room. It is mutually beneficial.
