Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Well Dean, this has to be a contest especially made for you - 'up your street' so to speak. Five good stanzas and though they are written in free verse they run so smoothly it is as if they did rhyme. Very interesting author notes to accompany the poem. Very good. Regards Dorothy

Heh, yeah, it is my kinda' contest, that's for sure. I almost passed on it, then I thought; What the heck have I got to lose but a few more brain-cells trying to hammer out a Halloween classic? I don't know if I've succeeded, but at least, I tried...

    Thanks again, Dorothy!

Dean I have walked around those old Londonderry battlements . It is truly inspiring. We left there at noon but by two o'clock there were riots. Kids set three policemen on fire . It was the march of the Orange. If there was a place for ghosts it would be old Derry....
Well done
God bless

Thanks, kiwijenny. It is a very tumultuous area, for sure. But certainly, the history is perfect for such inspiration as the ones required to create a Halloween tale...

You leave the reader really wondering about matters here -
is there really magic in this world? You have cleverly told us just so much of a tale as to still be wondering ........

Once he was done, the plan he spun roun a sorceress fireplace. Did I get that right? WOW. Well you did it my friend. You got my last six. You seem to get those out of me ;) oh no, it won't let me give you one! I've given you too many it appears. Dumb rule. Well you deserve a six here.

From the first time we met and spoke on our favorite genre, months ago now huh, I gotta admit I had no idea you'd come up with SO much! I mean I knew you were talented, believe me I did, but wow man, really, wow.

Your word choices are great, as in the selection I tried to memorize. I can hear a voice telling the story. Reading it. I've only felt that with King and Straub. I'm serious my friend, I call you that not out of nicety but sincerety, you are a rare gem. Truly blessed from God to tell stories. Every line in this is eerie, campfire story feel and excellently worded. But your entire selection is! Literally your entire collection. Great work.

Well deserved SIX as always even if it won't let me give you one. And thank you for being present with me while I've been out. Its appreciated more than you know. I'm starting to see the light. Ill get there. God has kept me afloat man, truly.

Your lifelong fan,
Greg

Thanks, Greg, and I am a big fan of your excellent talents as well. You too have been blessed with a gift-for-gab; or storytelling. Don't doubt that for one second.

I really appreciate the kind words, as well as you wanting to graciously bestow a sixer on this piece. I've often felt that particular Fanstory rule was a bit ostentatious.

    Thanks very much again, Greg!

Congratulations, you have once again woven a haunting tale by combining a creepy story presented in an intricate combination of verse, visuals, color, and audio. The author notes are an added treat.

A frightening tale, spine tingling and creepy. Graveyards have such a draw for the unexplainable. Lovely artwork to add an edge to the story and make it even more spooky. Well told. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

I found it very hard to really concentrate on this poem as I read it, so distracting was the music. Nevertheless, I gave it my best shot and think it's probably quite a good poem. The fault is mine; I cannot do two things at once. A good effort.

No worries, Franny G. I often have the same problem myself at times. Perhaps hitting the mute button on your computer or mobile device would help?
