Very nice tanka, Carolyn! The artwork entices the reader to read, and your tanka delivers a sweet, calming(from "sweet, gentle") message to the reader. "Sonrise" is very effective, and this reader takes it two ways ... the rise of the sun, and the rise of God's son.

You need to write requirements for a tanka. The wording is fine. It is very well penned an easy to read. You also have the correct 5 7 5 7 7 syllable structure. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful piece. I enjoyed it very much. You have a good one in God bless.

There is a good message in your poem. Today is gone ,welcome tomorrow . A new day , a new beginning. Keep your faith and do not waver , for then your faith is not strong.I liked your spiritual poem.

Great artwork and a good write.
"Rest 'til the 'morrow
Greet Warmth of joyful Sonrise
Faith's path to tread undaunted
" my best part.
Sonrise should be Sunrise.

Hi there, in the authors notes I wrote that spelling was intentional. :-) But thanks, I can tell you are a good editor. I appreciate you. Carolyn

Nicely crafted Carolyn. Day, night, resting and faith all intertwined magnificently in these few short lines.
Good message. I don't know all the poetic terms, all I can see is that it was well done and I liked it.

And that's what it is all about. Until I came to FS I did not know all these different forms existed. As I study one, I write one, :-) I am glad you liked it John. Carolyn

Hello
It's a beautiful tanka poem.
Nice alliteration in
today's toil
good consonance in
darkness falls
tread undaunted
there is concrete beautiful imagery in it with a human parallel drawn from the natural phenomenon.
You did an amazing work.
Regards:-)

Beautiful pic to illustrate your poem which flows well, but there are a couple of things to check. In line 2 Nights needs an apostrophe ( Today's), and in line 4 did you mean sunrise or Sonrise (a play on words?)

I meant Sonrise, in the authors line I noted spelling intentional. You are a great editor. :-) I am fixing the apostrophes. Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
Your tanka poem is wonderful. I love how you wrote it with a play on words, which makes it all the more interesting. The picture is great too.
Another great job! Kat
