Oh my God, I know this is fiction and I am still crying! This is beautiful, so tender and loving. It has everything it needs and much more - the narrative is exquisite, full of pain unspoken, the dialogue is touching, the plot too horrible to contemplate. This is writing at its best, and I am honored to review it. I only wish I had a six to reflect its proper merit. OUTSTANDING!

Wow. No six needed. This is great to hear from you. I appreciate the praise and the help with my book July. I'll keep trying to come up with stuff if you keep reviewing.

I took a look at your profile so I could return the compliment and review your latest posting. I am so glad I did as I can return the compliment in full with a sixer!

This was compulsive reading from start to finish. You capture the personalities of both extremely well and particularly with Lane. His 'slow' dialogue is perfectly written.

I am amazed that this is a fictional account because it rings so true.

Excellent writing which, while heartbreaking, was a pleasure to read.

Kindest regards
Aaron

This is such a bittersweet story, makes me want to cry. Very well written and formatted. You captured Lane's voice and child-like personality beautifully. I can't imagine what you must experience on a daily basis. Blessings to you. Stay strong and do what your heart tells you to do.

You're an excellent storyteller. I can't imagine what I'd feel if someone I loved started to lose it and can't function to that degree. It's categorized as Family Fiction, but it certainly sounds real, and you should congratulate yourself for having such skills. Excellent job!

Thank you for your kind words. It was thankfully fiction but I have heard from several people on this site who seem to be going through the same situation.

You labeled this fiction, but it comes across as being far too real and frightening. My hubby has mild dementia and hope this scenario is a long way down the road. The wife is so loving and patient; the husband so tender. A haunting picture of how one an accident or old age can change everything-except the love in our hearts.

Amen. It is fiction but I have watched a very young couple cope with their accident. I took it and ran with it. Good luck and God bless you and your husband. May the road be good for both of you.

This is a beautifully written story. I enjoyed reading it from start to finish. I like your style of writing it is easy to read with lots of dialogue. This is an accident case but Altzeimer's or dementia sufferers can be the same. I have worked with them and for families running away is not an option.

Thank you for the kind review. I definitely wanted to show an upside to the "lost causes". Hope I did it justice.

What a beautiful and moving story. You have got inside Allie's head and the interaction between the two is believable
and well described. I can't imagine having to cope with such a situation and it made me think how fragile and precious life is. Remarkable write.

Thank you so much for the review. I appreciate your letting me bounce from horror to romance to stupid kids poems.

Wow. That was my first reaction.

Re-reading the story, I think that your standing by Lane is what marriage vows are all about. He needs you more than ever.

Although the physical and fun times may not be there, it's a new situation that you are adapting to. It's not fair for either of you to have to make this transition, but it is truly a blessing for him to have a good woman like you not abandon him because of how an accident left him.

I hope you can reconcile with yourself on this issue. - John

This is so touching and it is clear you have a very tender heart and that your love and loyalty are genuine. I cannot imagine what it would be like to go though such a heartbreaking experience; to have to witness a loved one become someone entirely different than the person you once knew. It does seem as if he still has glimmers of who he used to be and that he very much needs your reassurance that the two of you will be together always. Your sense of hope and your steadfast love of this man shines through in your writing; it is an excellent piece.

You related this to the reader with such love and tenderness. Your love for each other is evident. He loves you, maybe not as a man can but as who he is now can. That key part of him that made him special, a soul mate, before is still there now. I could feel it in the way you write about Lane.

Be sure and give yourself time for yourself just as you would before the accident.

Best to you both.:)
