well if this doesnt beat them all, a beautiul tale of undying love between a father and daughter that is sadly brought to a close as The Lord calls time on the father

This is such a touching poem - the love
between you and your dad shows in each verse.
I love the way you paralleled both of your
feelings and requests.
The rhymes are pleasing and the repetition
works well. I'm sorry for your loss. Nancy

This is so moving, Katiesherrill. I was in tears before I ever reached the last verse. It's hard to know how the meter falls without knowing the melody, but the words are strong.

It deserves the six unfortunately I don't have the six to give, this was incredible, and brought instant tears to my eyes, I am not a father but a mother, and know the bonds, love and worry never ceases when they leave home. as for my father growing up I just always expected him to be there for me, my father is still with the living, but I think I'll be calling him as soon as I get home. I'm sorry for your loss. This was beautiful.

Thank you so much for your kind words. My fathers death came so fast that I wanted him to give me a qucik "ring" and let me know he arrived safely. I am glad that this struck a cord with you.

What a beautiful song. First Daddy sits waiting for the call to come that his baby girl is okay. Then his Daughter sits in his chair waiting for the call to come that her Daddy is okay.... but I'm afraid there are no phones in heaven.

This is a wonderful poem/song. The message is profound and touching and fills the heart with many emotions. I love how you made such a story out of this piece of work. This is very well done. Too bad this isn't a contest because you have a winner here.

This is a lovely song and a wonderful tribute to your father. Parents can seem like a bother when young, but are missed when they are no longer there! I am sorry about the loss of your father~ Debbie

I have tears in my eyes as I write this review. The song brings out such emotion . The lyrics are simple but truly it touches your heart and you can clearly see the father waiting for the call from his daughter. I would love to hear this sung.
The message is also quite profound. I am a Christian and my dad died when I was only 6 years old, before I knew the Lord.I sometimes wonder if he is in heaven with the Lord.
Great job!!!

Joan, I am also so sorry for your loss. I sat by my fathers side as he was dying and wished so much that he could just let me know he arrived safely. I am glad this touched your heart.
