An Ordinary Life

Hmmm, a very good point. A lot of us do long for more, more what? Money? Fame? Friends? Adventure? We tend to overlook the ordinary activities that we are gifted with. Spoiled, we forget how hard things once were. How simply surviving was and extraodinary feat. And, if our lives were different, if they were everything we imagined them to be, would we miss opportunities that don't come up in extraordinary lives? Nicely done!

Hi jimi,
Isn't it wonderful that we all are able in our ordinary lives to have those extraordinary moments when time stands still and is specifically special for us. These are the things I thought of as I read your poem. I love how you have shared these special times with us in your extraordinary poetry. Good job and thank you for sharing.

jlsavell, I love how you take the ordinary, put your spin to it, and out comes something extraordinary. Here you present so many "normal" events in life, the normal and regular emotions, in such a poetic manner. Very beautiful. I feel that some places could crossover to the spiritual realm, (such as: In the dawn of my ordinary life where the sun rises to birth my run), while you are describing the everyday occurrences of your life. You have really opened your life to us readers. Lovely word choices and alliteration. You make everything sound so beautiful, regardless if it is ordinary. I think that everyone has something extraordinary in their lives. Most people probably think their lives ordinary. I know I would. But when a few extraordinary people or things come into our lives, it changes our whole way of thinking, of living. I like the progression of your day, from dawn to dusk. The descriptions are amazing, as I could be in every place you describe. I love the repetition of the ordinary/extraordinary. Here are some of my favorite lines: "In the serenity of a magnificent sunset in my ordinary life, a new found freedom emerges, where time is not of essence and unpredictable predictability was not to be expected" and "Now in the untroubled still twilight of my rather ordinary life I found I had possessed something, something rather extraordinary." Beautiful picture, and lovely work. - JeJo

I think life would have been fantastic here living this "ordinary life."
I loved the way how the everyday things we do within our lives were written. I loved the kettle that whistles, the birds singing and the list of many happenings within ones day.
I certainly loved the last few words after meeting an extraordinary man and life was more extraordinary than ordinary held.

Lovely poem, but I feel the 'extraordinary-ordinary' goes just a bit too far? The reader is stumped at what you are calling an 'ordinary' like that keeps changing to 'extraordinary'.. I think it would read better if you ran thought all of the 'ordinary' things of your 'ordinary' life- rounding up, at the end, finally, that you discover your life is 'extraordinary' ? Well written and beautiful messages, just too my 'ordinary/extraordinary' switching all throughout. Thanks for sharing. Betty

ok, I loved this one, it made the reader touch your heart and life using ordinary means!! smile..nothing ordinary about the way you put this one together! I adored the verses using parts of the day to transcend your most precious moments and how each day captures that ordinary day and turns it into daily messages that hold an extraordinary life enriched in daily blessings!! How beautiful are you, my dear friend!! loved it and your extraordinary way you write and view the world! much love twomoon

Hidden behind the folds of our lives, in the corners of each ordinary day, lie ready waiting moments to discover. This was well penned and led me deeply into your living spaces. Thanks for sharing so much of yourself and family. Cheers, Don

This is a nice poem that compares ordinary that really is extraordinary. I like how you bring in the joys of your life - your family and the brilliant way worded when they left. Blessings to you and yours.
