So sad to find your wife cheating. Christmas Eve and all. She was playing the lonely card but was really having plenty of play time. Thanks for sharing. Not sure it will make you feel better, but you are better off without her.

That would really suck. I guess I'm glad it didn't happen to you, but it sucks that it happened to your friends. I just don't know how people can do that. My daughter's mother-in-law grew up with her father, having another whole family without her knowing. I can't remember how old she was when they found out he had a whole separate life.
Say that they got divorced, but he stayed with his second family's wife.
She finally hung out with her dad for the first time a few years ago after his other family's wife passed away.

This scenario actually happened to some of my friends in the Navy when we returned from cruise early. Your header says this is a poem, but the contest says it's a flash writing prompt. I would hate for your work to be disqualified.

to angry and untrusting you know some time is up...

This story, Merry Christmas, has the ending most married and traveling husbands expected to see. Women padding their complaints to use as an excuse for their own infidelity. Hope this was all fiction.

Guilty people get mad and suspicious. I'm sorry that happened to you, but best that you found out. My dad was a merchant Marine at sea often. My mom was home with us five kids. There was no fighting nor cheating. They trusted each other and were married 72 years when my mom died then my dad a few years later (at 100). Remember it's the cheater who is at fault and will cheat again. I left one, myself. Now I have a good husband and marriage. Best wishes, Alex
