A wonderful chapter, and very well written, but it does look very bad for Dougie, if he wakes up, but also for Waylon. MIranda is caught in the midst of everything. A very engrossing story.

I don't think Miranda will be able to convince Mitch that Dougie couldn't possibly have tried to kill the teacher. He doesn't care enough, but his son still isn't aware that he has no feelings.

I think Mitch has a case of insecurity when it comes to Dougie. Not sure why but a lot of men try to compete with old boyfriends. Lol. Thank you so much for this nice review. Gretchen

You did such a fine job here, Gretchen, moving the story along well, but with lots of good dialogue and inner thoughts and machinations. For Waylon's sake, I really hope it wasn't Dougie who killed the pedophile. But a part of me simultaneously fears that if it's NOT him, and he turns out to be the hero by having rescued some kid from an assault, he will be more insufferable than ever.
Oh well...I'll just have to wait till next week!! But I'll do so eagerly!! That part you can take to the bank.
