Really interesting chapter. You filled in a few details about Matthew in his conversation with Miriam. I'm glad she is protecting him and will bring Eleanor in. The eagle eye found a few little fixes.
"Please exit the vehicle...tape," the officer (said) -- [everything is in past tense.] "She (let) the warning hang in the air."
:(Your) men have probably made you aware..."
Did you give up and drive off the edge, or--(?)"
Hugs & blessings! Carol

    Excuse the cut and paste...
I'm traveling to North Carolina to spend some time with my Great Granddaughters (and enjoy Keyanna's national soccer tournament). It's like a whirlwind at the moment, but I do appreciate your time and especially your enjoyment of my story. Hope to get back to it soon. Thank you as always.

Safe travels, and have a lovely visit with your great granddaughters. I hope you're able to rest while you're away.

rest...what's that? I spent yesterday buying groceries and cooking (chili, BBQ, and chicken alfredo.... Today, I started unpacking the boxes from their move... I felt my age today. Had to rest so got the lap top and wrote. Thanks!

I've been working at church a few days recently, going through boxes that are stored during our remodeling. I'm feeling my age today also. It's good we can sit and write for a while.

It's good that Garth and his men were right there when they dredged up Donatelli's car. Hopefully, the wallet they got will make it easy to trace what led up to Matthew's disappearance!

Carol,

Another fine chapter. I love how your descriptions bring the reader into the book. You are still leaving me hanging. Who is the guy in the car and how did he get there. This book is exciting and captures the reader from the start.

Another great job

Cecilia

Looks like Donatelli has done "crapped in his mess kit" as the old saying goes. Well, at least as far as the detectives could possibly know. :-) Thanks for sharing.

Ohh, I could feel Garth's anger, it nearly matched my own. At least they know what they are up against. Now Miriam is going to get Eleanor and take her to Matthew. Then both women can relax knowing they are on the same side, both knowing Matthew is a good man. I wonder what Garth wil suggest. Jenna will be happier now. Well done, my friend. I have my laptop back!! So pleased I can read and review straight away. Next, please!! LOL
Love you lots, my clever friend. :) Sandra xxx

This plot is getting thicker than a year-old jar of molasses.
I love the way it's developing.
I cant understand why Mirriam is being so cagey, but then, she has been the victim of gross injustice so, maybe.
Next please :)

One wonders at the influence John Doyle exerts, and why would Rossi be there, what's it got to do with him? Meanwhile, Miriam is wise to with hold Matthew until due knows who can be trusted and who not to be trusted, beautifully written Carol, as always, blessings Roy

All the details, including dialogue, facial expressions and gestures, character's thoughts and intensions, plus the story line seem so realistic. Doyle's goal was to have Donatelli charged with murder. Now I understand why another body was found in Donatelli's car. I'm also glad Tango found the wallet and slipped it to Poppa. It may take time, but Garth and Eleanor will get to the bottom of everything.

I like talking about the characters. I feel like I know them, just as if I were watching a soap opera. Way to go, Carol.

Thanks so much, Lorraine. I too feel like the characters become my family and I care about what's happening to them. Appreciate the review. I hope I can get caught up and then back to writing, but we've got a basketball game tonight. LOl

Eleanor needs to be called to speak with Matthew. Garth will take care of the others, I'm sure. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Me? Responsible? Did I -- oh God in Heaven, did I hurt someone?" (missing beginning quotation marks)

What brought you to this, my friend? Did you give up and drive off the edge, or --" (missing beginning quotation marks)
