You have a long and complex history of mansions and spirits... I can't wait until they enter and find unexpected splendor and somewhere...Donatelli?
This is the kind of chapter that builds anticipation and I'm enjoying the ride from start to finish!

Are you sitting on the edge of your seat? Because you are going to take a journey inside and find out somethings you might not have been expecting... or maybe you were. We will see!

You have the best way of surprising me!

We're getting a lot closer to finding Matthew. I am curious about so much and have so many questions. I'm sure you'll tie it all together.
She sat down in the rocker and moved it closer to (you can omit 'down' it's an extra word and is understood)

Forgive me for my short thank you but I am so far behind and hope to clear the slate before I leave tomorrow morning. Between the book being published and packing and writing, I'm going crazy. Thank you as always, Smiles, Carol

Well, you can even make the anticipation of walking into an old abandoned house seem thrilling, and yes, with all the spiders, snakes, and cobwebs.
Thanks for sharing.

I love your story, you know I do.
But there is one glaring error slapping me in the face with every chapter.
Adoptive children cannot inherit form birth family estates. All legal ties are severed at the adoption and instead their inheritance rights are with he adopting family.
This has been bugging me so much :'(
It doesn't stop me enjoying the story, but it is a major issue with the plot line that I couldn't ignore.
Forgive me
Tim x
P.S. I fully intend to keep reading so no worries on that score. Its too damn gripping not to. :)

They can't legally go after the birth family, but the birth family can give their property to whomever they want...which is what is happening in this situation. But I am glad that you are enjoying the story.

Oh, I thought he died intestate. Yeah if she is a named beneficiary then the adoption becomes irrelevant, especially if there are no other living relatives to contest things

Everyone has passed away and she never knew this family ever existed. It will be an emotional time for her. Thanks!

Carol,
Another amazing chapter. I wonder if they will find Donatelli today. You always have a great amount of descriptive detail in your stories. You are a very, very talented artist.

Excuse the cut and paste...
I'm traveling to North Carolina to spend some time with my Great Granddaughters (and enjoy Keyanna's national soccer tournament). It's like a whirlwind at the moment, but I do appreciate your time and especially your enjoyment of my story. Hope to get back to it soon. Thank you as always.

I could really feel Eleanor's desire to find Matthew. I hope he's going to be OK, but with Eleanor looking out for him, I'm sure he will be. Another well written chapter, Carol, I really enjoyed reading it.

Another excellent chapter. Sorry I am a bit behind with reviewing, but gradually catching up. Let's hope they find Matthew and that his memory will be restored. Let's hope too that Doyle doesn't find out he's still alive.
Matthew could need weks of recovery from such injuries.

Will they find Matthew? Goodness this is one of your best, Carol. So much mystery unwinding. Garth will soon find the car and the body in the boot. But will he think Matthew is the murderer? I don't think so. The blood on the rock, the fact that he was at that bar, he will be very cautious in his thinking. I hope the house is still lovely inside and wasn't like that because like Miriam, it's still in the past. Actually, she's not, is she? even though she is dead, she is like Eleanor, still in the present. You have got to stop the judge!! Now I can't wait for the next chapter and see if the girls find Matthew. Love you lots, my friend. Sandra xxx
Sorry I've been sort of off, it was the anniversary of my brother's death yesterday, and I'm still hurting. Yesterday was a tough day, in fact this whole month has been as I went over every moment of his last days. Graham took me out and we are going out walking again today. He's worried about me, that I might slip back to the way I was last year. I have to make sure I don't. But it's hard.

I wish I could give you every last ounce of strength and determination that I housed within this body and wrap my love around it to help ease your pain. It's not fair when we lose someone who we imagined being part of us forever. Ian and all the love you shared will be in your heart forever.
And mine too! Thank you for taking the time to read my story when you have far more important things to deal with. Love you!
Smiles and hugs, Carol

Oh, I get it! Rebecca and Miriam are related? I was hoping Miriam was of the living but apparently, she's a ghost like Eleanor. I wonder why she lied to her and didn't tell her about Matthew. This is exactly the plot style of K-dramas, the withholding information to make life more difficult for everyone. It sounds like Jenna has reached a new stage of pregnancy that she doesn't feel too queasy for a long drive!
