I enjoyed this poem about courage and faith and I adore the sentiments here as I felt the strength behind this weary traveler who was unafraid, love Dolly x x x

Your poem presents a picture of someone who lived in a world of sin, and later made deliberate steps to repent and find God across the river of death where life eternal shines bright. Thanks for sharing your inspiration, dear. An inspiring poem, well penned.

Pretty damn deep. The river Styx was the river of hate. If you entered the water, it might turn you into a god. But, more likely you would just die. My father owns both sides of the river is spiritual even if it isn't meant to be. Good job.

Thank you Eean for the six, you are very kind and generous. The original title was "The River of Death" but "Crossing the River Styx" has a more poetic ring to it.

Hi DonandVicki
This is a well done free verse poem about repentance and faith. It reminds us what we all must do to have eternity. I like the 'weary traveler's" answer to the boatman.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great week.

Hi Don, I loved the metaphor in this well written poem about a well known theme. The ending read like a satori or the surprise ending to a flash story. I liked it a lot. Ulla:)))

I've always been fascinated with the River Styx, having read about it in novels and listened to songs. I enjoyed this poem because I never knew where it would go. I like to be surprised. Thank you.

Oh wow, Don, what a profound poem. It had the feel of flash fiction with the stinger in the tail, but was definitely a poem. The last line gave me chills all over.
You mixed in a little mythology with the River Styx and the boatman, but we all know the references to the wide path vs narrow. I love it!!!!
Great job,
Rhonda

God bless you, too. Your poem certainly blessed me. Every time I think of you final line, I get another chill. What do we need fear when our Father owns both sides?? Great line, my friend!!

A beautiful and insightful poem of faith. You are so right. We should never fear crossing over the river Stynx as our father owns both sides. Very creative way to tell that message.
Well done.
Blessings
