I enjoyed your creative presentation for revealing a wonderful awareness of the ultimate distinction between relying on absolute faith and trust in our creator to safely guide and protect, and reaping the affects of a disparaging belief to one's own ability and power. You demonstrated this very nicely and with precise clarity. Best wishes for you!

Yes, ma'am, everything in life is a choice. And those like me have made plenty of bad ones. But faith and trusting God's word is a choice we will never regret. Thanks for sharing.

Beth, I don't think I've ever heard this message more perfectly delivered. It was set in the same context of Jesus's teaching - a parable relating to the times. It said it all. What a beautiful way to help us realize the importance of that GPS, one I never want to be without, either.
Take care,
Rhonda

Excellent parable, and a great way to explain the life of faith. I wish I still had a six, but I am sure this one will do very well in the contest, and I send good wishes. I liked the parallels very much.

This is an awesome metaphor that fits 'faith'
so well with its references to self control versus a super guidance system. A great price covers the crucifixtion of Christ.

This is a fabulous use of metaphor, IMHO. I have only one suggestion for your consideration...
"This system was purchased at a great price for those that wish to have it as part of their boat." -- Why not make mention that 'the system' is offered to us at no cost, we simply have to choose it?
Best of luck in the contest. This is a jewel!

That is good idea Dawn. I was going to work that in but it will mean rearrangeing some line as it has to exactly 300 words. I'll work on it. Thank you for a great review.

A fantastically great analogy. I'll have to share it with the moderator of our Bible Class, who used to spend much time in boating. I know when I piloted my own ship, I headed Straight for doom. Now, I may err at times, but the One who guides the Remote guides me safely on.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this, I'm not sure it is what the contest has in mind, but it was what I decided to write. Feel free to share it.

It was about what Faith means to you, and you certainly wrote that!

I enjoyed reading your essay on faith. I like the analogy to being in a boat and crossing the ocean, needing a remote which is faith and God is the super power. I also like how you mention we have a choice to use the remote or attempt to cross the ocean by ourselves. Excellent writing that draws the reader in and gives a good spiritual lesson.

This is an interesting metaphor. We are in competition, but I will admit yours is good. Rats! I will wish you good luck in the contest. Is it really bad of me to really want to wish you second Place? :-)

Thank you, Karen and I will except any place I can get or none. I've won more than my share lately. It the last four months I've won five. Before that it took years to win even one.

I haven't won first in a while, I admit out loud I get giddy when I get a first. Don't you?

I like the way you explain safety in Christ. Yes, he is our captain of our boat and we are safe as long as He is in charge. Good one, Beth. Thanks for sharing.
