Aching for a six to give this magnificent poem. My friend, this is so stunning, beautifully crafted and illustred with the 12-point buck. I love the spiritual turn your encounter takes:
It took some time to realize
and celebrate the gift we shared.
All creatures great and small are His.
A harmony of life declared.
The contest winner, I declare it!
Sending you my best today as always and my very best wishes in the upcoming contest.

Janet, this is lovely. It is heartfelt and heartbreaking all at once. There is peace within you as you tell this amazing tale about the buck standing tall and so close to you. I love the picture that coincides with the descriptions of this wondrous beast. Brava, my friend. You have captured the magnificence of the animal in all its glory. Every creature is a wonderful sight to behold but this story exemplifies the dynamic creature of them all, the Buck.

And thank goodness you did not feel the need to shoot him. Thank you. They are beautiful creatures.
We have lots of beautiful creatures look at tight now.
But they are diminishing every day. Great solid writing. Karen

I like your haircut. Bangs usually make people appear happier and younger like you do. I took Cosmetology in High School, I loved making people look better. It rarely took all that much. :-) Karen

The bangs cover up the wrinkled forehead 😊
Now I just need something for the rest of my face. Haha

I have earned every wrinkle, I consider all of them my laugh lines.:-)

I loved this tribute poem to encountering a magnificent stag in the winter snow and your reflections on hunting, animal life, and the beauty of nature even in the winter

This must have been so amazing to see this magnificent stag standing as he is the king. Excellent use of words that takes the reader out into nature. I can relate to the feeling of peace when we encounter one of God's beautiful creatures. You do tell a story here in a smooth poetic form. Best wishes for the contest.

Hi Janet,
This simply but well rhymed poem tells of a religious experience in nature.
It reminds us all creatures are intertwined and makes us wonder at how God created us all.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Good luck in the contest.
Have a great week.
