I have but one word for this awesomely crafted point. That word is, CLASSIC. Anyone desiring to see an example of classic poetry, done the way the master did it, Need only look at this excellent example to see it. This is simply outstanding work.

Hello RSPoet, I love that you are writing about our NJ Pinelands. It is a sight to behold. Every once in a while, I write about them too. Your poem reads and flows well and is filled with vivid imagery. Of special note:
The flowers are stunning across this pineland--
A yellow Pine Heather that blooms in the sand,
The red-petaled Goat's Rue and Cinnamon Fern,
These hues of a rainbow each season return.
(Beautiful writing. I can feel your love and pride for this region.)
Your poem is not only an ode to the Pinelands, but the beauty to be found within NJ. Well done. Xo Margaret
p.s. How did you manage to incorporate the two bottom photos into your poem. I recently wanted to do that but didn't think that we could do that.

PS I use Microsoft, saving pictures (save image as) to my picture file. To put them into a poem I right click copy, then go to the poem on fanstory and put the cursor in the desired location. Press and hold control (Ctrl), then press V. Don't hold them to long or you'll get multiple images. The picture must not be too large or it will overwhelm the space. Once in, you can drag the right corner to the size you want and also move to the location. When done, be sure to save on fanstory.
If it doesn't appear, save again. Hope this helps.

What an ecological treat to read your poem and learn about so many examples of flora and fauna in the Pinelands National Reserve. I'm glad that they have protected this area. The bald eagles have definitely made a successful comeback. We see them all the time out here.
As always, your poem is skillfully crafted and I like how you put the manmade mill in the backdrop and nature in the foreground. Best wishes in the contest!

Wow! Now I have a new place to visit on my bucket list. I never thought it would be New Jersey! (No offense; I know very little about the state.)
I love the poem, love the author's notes, love the pic... The whole things is a perfect post. No suggestions, of course. It's great!
Blessings,
Deb

I thoroughly enjoyed my trek through the barrens. Our grandson Cash would love exploring these pine lands. Just to see the tree frog. He loves amphibians. The poem flowed like a river and painted a beautiful scenario with your well chosen words. Great entry for the contest.

Hello June. Thank you for the marvelous review and rating for my poem, Apple Pie Hill. I?m glad you enjoyed the sensory imagery and the metrical flow "like a river."
The treefrogs actually live in the trees, and rarely come down, so Cash would have a difficult time seeing one. We live on the edge of the preserve and hear them at night.
I appreciated the encouraging comments and six stars very much.
Best wishes.

That is very good it is just the sort of thing that could be used to promote this National Reserve. I have not heard its name before, I have heard of the New Jersey Devil though. Apple Pie Hill is quite a strange name but it caught my interest.
