This is such a special and unusual story. What a blessing that you got to connect with your brother and establish a relationship. What a blessing too that his adoptive parents were kind and loving enough to help make this happen. There are good people in the world. I really liked the inclusion of the butterflies as a special form of tribute to your loving Mum.

What a crazy confession your mom shared. I don't know how I would handle that. But being able to meet these family members seems to be a blessing. Great Rhyme!

That was an interesting twist in your life. I'm sure your mom was nervous about how the rest of the family who didn't know would take the news. I love your poem. I never had any sibling and I think I would have delighted to suddenly have one appear.

Hey Beth, thanks so much for such a sweet review for Jan on her birthday. I have been hearing from many newbies who didn't know her so I just went and added something in notes about her and Abby. Isn't that amazing that I was able to find a black cat with a girl swinging on a star. And you saw Jan's obituary, don't you think that woman looks just like her.
Thanks so much for you kind words for Jan's poem.

No, I didn't see Jan's Obituary. I would have liked to. I thought the picture you used was perfect though.

We are taught not to judge another but mores often lead us there. I cannot understand aborting a child, especially in light that Myra and I adopted two infant girls. They were 1 and 2 months old, five years apart, because she and I were infertile. Neither has met their mothers due to a closed adoption. Each mother was in their early teens.

Tom, I appreciate the kind review for my mom's poem and your sweet comments. I love that you adopted the two girls. My mom's was a different kind of case since she was older and asked that there be a note written that she would always welcome him to know about her, if they saw fit.

I thank you so very much, dear friend.

Thank you for sharing the life story of your mother.

It must have been bard to give a child for adoption. In her case, it is totally understandable.

You are a good story teller your poem meets the rules of rhyming.

A poem well done and thank you for sharing it with us.

Wow what a story and what a confession, and you told it all so well through your poem. I'm sorry your Mom passed away so soon but I'm glad she was able to meet him and that you have a good relationship with your new brother. A lovely write that touches the heart. May you all be blessed.

A beautiful and heartwarming story Debi. So happy you found your brother and your mom found her son. A wonderful story of a grateful
heart.
My mother chose to keep me and while I'm glad that she did, I know it was a struggle for her survive the stigma of unwed mother. She did eventually marry and have my one sister and I'm grateful for that too.

Blessings
Janet

Hi Janet, due to having so many at one time, I want you to know I am sorry for the late response.
I appreciate the lovely review for my mom's poem and your sweet comments. I thank you so very much, dear friend.

You are most welcome Debi. I don?t know how you do what you do with all you deal with everyday.
I don?t post often but now with my husband?s health issues, time is taken by so many different doctor?s appointments and tracking meds so it?s even less often. And reviewing is less as well. But I am always happy to see your name when I do check in. Then there is the matter of funds in my account to post at a level that would encourage reviews. You must review a lot or win a lot or both. Hopefully, I can step up next year and be more active. Hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving and thank you again for my beautiful birthday poem.
    Hugs and blessings

You have such a lovely story of being loved by your mother. And also one of being loved by your husband and son who need and depend on you so.

The one who loves you most is watching over you, my sweet friend.
My prayers continue for you all, dear friend.

The love and thankfulness you feel at learning of your brother's existence shines through in this lovely poem. You honor your Mom and her courage, and you honor your brother and his adoptive family. Love always wins. Happy Thanksgiving.

Wow! What a heartwarming and simultaneously heartbreaking story. The notes are a poem in themselves, but the poem is lovely. A beautiful piece, well done. x
