This article, Proactive Patience, is life affirming and reminds the readers that every moment is an opportunity to expand one's learning, enjoy what is better appreciated in stillness and calm, and not allowing physical to surmount the spiritual.

Thanks, Jane, for noticing the last line of this piece. I hoped others would notice it too. It says all of what this piece is about by summarizing the essence of my core sensibility. Thanks for wishing me a speedy recovery. That means a lot.

Hi there,

Good for you, Jesse. Sometimes making that change in ourselves can lead to a better outlook and outcome. A sense of peace because of that sense of proactiveness.

I found out that the pain clinic was booked solid until January of next year. No way I want to wait that long with this severe pain. - this section is in small sized font compared to the rest of the piece.

after Physical therapy - perhaps capitalise Therapy here as well.

All the best
G

Hello G. I went to change the font on the sentence you pointed out to me that was different and somebody had already changed it!
Anyway, thanks for the positive feedback.
I appreciate your interest in my life.
I hope yours is going according to plan as well.
    Take care,
    Jesse

My mother's knee surgery led to a bad stroke. No operation is chance free. You take a chance. Maybe you're fortunate not to have the knee surgery now. The bad back throws off your balance and that effects knees. I have MS, Spinal Stenosis and Osteoarthritis. Oh and with all that in 2018, a reckless driver ran a light full speed and hit into my passenger side of our old car. So since I'm immune suppressed and have Asthma , and still vulnerable to the virus it's hard that go out and I'm so behind with doctors. I've fallen and hurt my hip and tailbone in our home in 2021 but still haven't gone to a doctor.:( So scared. Good for you, that your safely getting to doctors. I've been told if I get the virus I will "succumb to it's worse consequences. I feel like there's no end in sight for me. God bless you and keep healthy! Best wishes!

I hear you. I have a severe pain in my neck as well. I don't know what it is but at my age I am not going for any operation, I will take the pain pills and handle it in the best way possible. The Dr's just look at me at 88 and decide it is wasted effort at my age anyhow. I guess I have have just given up . Well done. You have a good attitude. Nancy:)

Jesse, this is such a brave, yet sad story. You are being both patient and proactive... two very good things to be, but obviously you are also enduring awful pain, which makes me very sad. I hate to think of you having back surgery. If a shot in the neck can help, January will be here sooner than the recovery time for surgery, which I hear is horribly painful. I hope your doctors will give you good advice. This is where the perseverance comes in. If you can just persevere a little longer and wait for the best option, you might, in the long run, be happier. I greatly admire your strength and your determination. I also admire your ability to tell your stories with clarity and beauty. Thank you for sharing this. And God bless you richly as you persevere. ð?¥°

Thanks, MM, for this insightful review. It so happens that the insurance company has told us that I need to get the shot in my neck before I can have surgery.
So, your advice was a good one.
I have been put on the urgent list so I won't have to wait as long as I thought to receive the injection in my neck.
Thanks for your positive feedback and for blessing me!

I like your use of alliteration, Choosing words with the letter p is very meaningful with an onomatopoetic effect. The little explosion that happens in our mouth when pronouncing the letter p indicated things are popping, happening.

Thanks, Liz, for noticing the alliterative nature of the first line. No one else wrote about it. I also love the feel of saying the words they go pop in my mouth.

Hi Jesse. I haven't reviewed your work before, so I don't know what you've been through. I have had some physical disasters myself, and I understand the being alone. You have a nice positive attitude about your confinement, and that will work in your favor for recovery. I like the way you are sharing your experience with others to help them as well.

Take care,
Rhonda
