I rather enjoyed this Christmas story. I don't think I've ever heard a holiday story involving both Native Americans and cats, but there's a first time for everything. I've of course heard of Kit Carson, but never really knew much about him. Did he indeed marry a native gal? It would only make sense. Thanks for sharing this.

Tom, thank you for reading. Kit did marry three times and had 10 kids. He married an Arapaho, a Cheyenne, and a white woman. My story was a composite fictional account based on some truth. Terry.

Such an interesting story! I love that the cat tells it. It's a great combination of history and legend, blended with Christmas. I don't drink, but I thought the brandy glass was called a snifter. Lots of good details in this story for interest. Blessings. Carol

I enjoyed this tale, especially since I recently posted two Native American stories. By the way, if my aging brain isn't completely gone, I believe Jim Bridger was in a few episodes of "Wagon Train." I never really did much research on Kit Carson, other than being a fan of the old western TV series that had nothing to do with real life. Didn't know he was born on Christmas Eve.

I love folklore and this one is g. I've read of and seen movies about Kit Carson.
I loved the story of Kit, Singing Grass and Holly being told by the cat.
