This is an excellent story about women's capabilities. I enjoyed it very much, as it made me realise how many women think (wrongly) they can't set themselves to anything they want to. It's still time for change. kay

Yes. I agree. My kids can all do techy things but nothing mechanical. I can't do either. Thank you for this. Gretchen

What a beautiful story! So rewarding and triumphant and wholesome! I loved every word. Great, great job, Gretchen!
"Wielded" is spelled i-before-e, and dingey has an 'e' instead of an 'h.' Everything else is letter perfect.

My Girls and I have always been handy with tools and have done a mans Job almost every day in one respect or another. That is what ranching is all about. For ten years Jim worked a great distance away and came home on weekends. I did a lot of work here by myself. Loved every minute of it. I discovered who I was early on. LOL Good Job! Girl power! LOL Nancy:)

This is very well written and very interesting. If there are any women's magazines left, this might be of interest to them. These two women pulled off something most women wouldn't think they could do, and most of them could. Most women's mags have very specific guidelines online. Good luck with this.

Thanks, Carol. I haven't tried to submit to a magazine in a long time. But thank you for the six star and the suggestion. Gretchen

Women who live alone, like myself, have learned to use power tools. When I moved into my apartment I had heavy mirrors to hang, curtail rails to put up and a kitchen to tile! Yes I did it all by myself with no help from anyone. The only thing I will not tackle is fitting anything electrical! I enjoyed your story here and I don't see why women can't build things too, a fine post Gretchen, love Dolly x
