I wonder if all children ask that question of their parents? My son did, and I gave him a similar answer.
This is an interesting thought process on your part, well-expressed and well-written. I wonder at the part where you say Jesus was ". . . separated from God and His lover forever. Without hope." Didn't he die also to be reunited with God - the Holy Trinity?
I've also been taught that Jesus was NOT perfect - he had a human side - yet he was forgiven and reunited with his Father.
I'm not trying to pick a fight here, Wendy. Just musing on how our "teachings" may be slightly different.
I will agree that His love for us was perfect, for why else would he die such a horrible death for us?
Happy Easter - blessings to you and your family.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Thank you for a very nice, and thoughtful review. I believe Jesus was perfect, but fully man (without sin) and fully God, the intermediary. Even the Old Testament lambs offered for sacrifice had to be perfect and without blemish. Nevertheless, even if our teachings may be different, He is our Saviour and Lord and we can rejoice in this at Easter. Blessings on you and your loved ones as well. I always appreciate your reviews and thoughts.

You have written an eloquent piece. You had me with you as you told about your son asking if you would still love him even with that ultimate disappointment. God's love knows no bounds. He has proven this to us over and over again. His ultimate gift was the life of his only Son. Beautifully written, Wendy. Happy Easter. Gretchen

Thank you for reminding us of the real meaning of the Christian Easter which goes a bit beyond the eggs and bunnies. Like many Christian festivals it was grafted on to the pagan Eostr festival that preceded it

Thanks so much for reviewing. Yes, I am not sure it was such a great idea to try and blend the two. Pagan plus Christian doesn't work too well.

Excellent writing. Superb presentation of the saving grace of Jesus.
My prayer is that someone will read it and give pause, consideration of the Truth, the Life, and the way.
Thank you for writing.

This is a heartfelt write Wendy and a fine post for the Easter celebration. I can tell these words are from your heart and how much you love your son and because of this you were able to apply your love to this tragic scene at Easter, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
