That is hilarious! I'm going to remember that the next time I get a phone call for health insurance. They just keep calling and never listen. Normally I hang up on them, but not again, I'll use this excellent story to my advantage and have a good giggle! Wonderful, good luck in the contest, it's bound to win. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you. Oh, good. I'm glad the story helped someone. All us older folks get tons of these calls every day. I just don't answer them. They did inspire this story, though. LOL
Hugs.

I love it for this contest, good luck in the contest. You have triggered a memory of something similar that a friend of mine used, and I copied it. It worked great. Maybe I will post it sometime. Excellent work. Terry.

Thank you. Yeah, it would be a good way to get rid of them, but I mostly don't answer the calls.
Hugs.

Ingenious! I usually say no thank you and click off. But this way is much better and can also serve as therapy, venting like that to a complete and captive stranger!
Wonderfully done!

Thank you for reading and the six stars. Both are appreciated. My phone rings all day, and unless I know the number calling, I don't bother to answer. I got this idea from all those calls.

This is very amusing, and I sure wish I could remember it for the next telemarketer. Have you actually tried it? It really is an excellent way to say NO!

Thank you. No, I haven't tried it, but I bet it would work. Thank you for the stars and comments.

This was a proper humorous little post, you had plenty of personality in the voice of the character giving the phone solicitor an earful of something he doesn't want to hear. It's a fun way to get those pesky robocalls to hang up on you. I like how you have him trying to get a word in edge wise, but getting spoken over by the loquacious kvetscher who unloads problem after problem he probably doesn't want to insure. estory

Thank you. This was a fun piece to write. I know it's early for the contest, but I wanted to write it while it was fresh in my mind.

Funny "dialogue only" entry for the contest... should be a contender, but you never know how people will vote. One of my favorite things to say to them is... "I'm busy right now. Give me your home number, and I'll call you later." After the inevitable silence, "Yeah, that's how I feel, too." Then I hang up.

Thank you for the stars and the comments. I do get tired of all those phone calls.

You know, the best compliment I can give this piece was that I didn't know until I read it at the end that this was a dialogue only contest entry. Your exchanges were smooth and there were no awkward moments where you're going back to see who is speaking. Great entry. I wish you the best of luck in the contest.

Thank you. I love these dialogue contests because it is easier than having to put in all the scenes and back story.

I sure hope this lady will go to the doctor and get some relief. I can honestly say that the lady, who telephoned, got an ear full. I was thinking how patient she was to sit and listen to the lady's complaints. Like your story.

Thank you. Apparently she didn't listen to long. LOL It's just a funny story that popped into my head.

That's a great subject for a dialogue only story. It made me smile and made me want to try it out the next time I get one of these calls. I did once put the phone on a table and went to the kitchen to make a cup of tea, but the caller had hung up when I got back - but your idea is really wicked!! Good luck in the contest. x

Lol! That's a brilliant tactic to use on those awful solicitors. Talk to them about stuff they don't want to hear after all, they called to talk to us about things we didn't want to hear! This should do well in the contest!

Thank you. It was just a thought that went through my mind. I must get twenty calls every day. Unless I know the caller, I don't answer.
