I enjoyed your poem of a family outing, with each person mentioned. I could feel their joy in the season and in being together. The picture was an excellent complement to the story.

Thank you Verna!
Comment from Gloria ....
I think you have done a fine job of furthering along the poetic expression of this work of art.
I particularly enjoyed the plump pumpkins plunked alliteration long after the corn.
I find this an imagery filled delight perfect for the harvest of autumn.
Excellent contribution to the club.

What a delightful picture, and you have chosen beautiful words to describe it. Makes me feel nostalgic, remembering days of childhood and bringing in the harvest on the farm. I like the lines: "Our harvest complete - knowing we are blest, we'll say a prayer and give God a toast."

You did a great job with your club response, JLR. I enjoyed
reading it. Your words read smoothly with some rhymes and
created great imagery. I liked how you used old fashioned names
of the family pictured. The ending was great as God created all.
i wouldn't capitalize the 'a' in PA--Pa.
Thanks for participating, Jan

This poem, Pumpkin Patch, presented with three ABAB-rhymed quatrains, takes the readers to this neat time of gathering up the harvest bounty. Fun stuff.

As I was reading this it reminds me of how they use pumpkins and actually propel them for long distances.
Maybe in the future it'll propelling them to try to hit targets a couple hundred yards away?
...
Well written and an appropriate writing for this fall holiday.
