What a wonderfully written sad love story. It shows the deep love and longing your dad felt for your mom. A love and longing that never faded with time. And though the songs brought him sorrow, they also brought her closer so that he could spend one more moment with her.

Sometimes we have the pleasure of finding our one true love. I can honestly say that my dad loved my mom after she was gone, more than when she was alive. When she was alive, she was always there; when she was gone, dad knew he would not see her until he arrived in heaven. Alcohol can contribute to sadness; it brings a depressing feeling.

Sound is a powerful link to memory. When people break up with boyfriends or girlfriends, there are songs they no longer want to hear. The only sense more powerful than sound in inducing memories is smell.
