Gorgeous poem. I love the rhythm.
Personally I love autumn, but your metaphors are very apt.
What I can't stand is summer in Madrid. Too hot for me.
Thanks for sharing this.

Heather, I am so grateful for the four seasons and I thrive in our long autumn season where we rarely see freezing temperatures. I would not enjoy the summers of Madrid either? too hot.

That's why we try to escape to England whenever we can. But this summer it was hot even there.

FanStory has introduced me to so many new forms of poetry, including the zanze. This was well-written and full of autumnal imagery. Good luck in your event!

This style or poetry appears to be very challenging!. You have done an excellent job, conveying a powerful message about fall--both the season and a time of life--which I am experiencing!

Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. I am feeling a little guilty. Autumn is my favorite time of year because the weather is cooler and the beautiful rich tree colors. Sorry.

No regrets Barbara, I relish that we have the seasons!

I commend you for taking on the challenge of a xanze, which I myself would not do for I have other things to do than try to digest for another's sake something other would do better anyway. You're proof.

Hi Tom, thanks for the nod of validation, having been away for a month I jumped back into the deep pool of wordsmithing.

Hi JLR,
This is a well done Zanze for the potlatch club. It shows the aging of the body through the changing and falling leaves. I also reminds us what an aging body goes through.
Keep writing and stay healthy

This is a hard form to master but you have completed requirements well. I like the parallel between the seasons of man's life and the arrival of fall. The title is plural (so no apostrophe, which would indicate possession). Well done.

Not familiar with the Zanze format but this is a beautiful reflection on the arrival of Autumn and the change of seasons -both Nature and humans feel the impact of the seasonal shift

That chilling wind and biting frost certainly does penetrate the bones and makes us ache and I so agree with you, the forthcoming winter months always seems to take its toll on us, I can identify with your words here, love Dolly x

It seems that I learn a new poetry form nearly daily in this forum. This is my first introduction to zanze (or is it zantze?). The requirements and restrictions of this format make it incredibly challenging. I salute you for being able to capture imagery and depth under such constraint. Well done.
