A fine write for our wonderful Queen who has been finally laid to rest. She certainly did her duty and she was in control, I just hope everything doesn't fall apart now. I loved your kind and peaceful words here, love Dolly x

I am right there with you Dolly! Queen Elizabeth: a long-lived example of selfless humility and service, that sorely, I fear, will never be replaced.
Comment from Gypsy Blue Rose
Queen Elizabeth has been part of all my life. I never met her but I saw her on TV. She always smiled and ran the country with regal dignity and beauty. I enjoyed your poem. Good luck in the Naani Poem writing prompt contest

Comment from Ulla
Yes, she did serve the country for seventy years. Something that has to be admired. She lived through an ever changing world. Just pause for a moment. How does the fifties compare with today's world? Well that's a difficult question to answer. Ulla:)))

Ulla, Queen Elizabeth reign was nearly my whole life. Queen Elizabeth: a long-lived example of selfless humility and service, that sorely, I fear, will never be replaced.

-Nice artwork and presentation.
-You wrote a good poem and tribute to the late Queen.
-Very good opening lines, and you follow those
with the ways she served, based on what she had been taught.
-A very good conclusion to that line, and it
is also a very good lesson for anyone to follow.
-Good luck in the contest.

You are welcome.

A very reflective Poem.
This poem gives readers the impression that it could be straightforward what you say, while at the same leaving readers to wander to come with up with their own interpretation.
It's like a double-play, in baseball. Which meaning do we observe and which lessons did we observe and which of those will prevail.
An intriguing Naani poem in all of is observations. Good luck in the contest.

This is a very well written poem and a timely subject. I wish I knew more about the queen and the service that she gave, perhaps ill look it up. Thank you and best if luck in the contest. :)

Comment from Michael Cassar
One time monarch. Surviving many monarchies. A symbol of powerless monarch rising above the rest. Self-less but secure in reading her position in time. Power of colonies fading into commonwealth. Admired for her flexibility. Just look at State Funeral dignitaries. Naani poem with beautiful chosen words. Michael

Comment from Charles W. Johnson
Interesting word choices that add a layer of ambiguity and mystery. "was taught", not "has taught" implies she was the student, not the teacher and that interpretation is reinforced by "a lesson we all observed". We observed her being taught. Not a lesson we all all "learned"; no she was the student and we watched her grow and learn to be a self-less leader. A solid Naani poem.

Charles, you caught my subtle nuance -- she was a consummate student of humanities in my opinion.
