Love your Appalachian word usage which really brings the reader into your world whether they understand the words or not.

This is a terrific free verse. My favorite line is " boiling like a pot of grits." I was raised on grits so the humor was not lost on me, a colorful analogy for sure. This verse is wildly descriptive and passionately written. It is clear your love of nature. I read it many times and the images became more vivid. Well done!
