Lol! Well, it's good that LisaMay lets you express yourself so well, Lily! I think you should do well in such a contest except that "winner takes all" types of contests aren't appealing to my human. You really have the best situation there! I can't get my humans to wake up and play with me in the middle of the night. Take care of your human and don't eat all those potted plants! Some are not good for us kitties - or so my human says.

Lily,

How adorable! This was a precious ode to your sweet and kind adoptive owner. I know her a little bit here, too, and I agree that she's an okay sort. I would not leave or lose her if I were you.

Funny Note:
--> or rip leaves off the pot plants,
--> in the US, we would say 'potted' plants, otherwise, this sounds like marijuana. hahaha

Thanks!

(Hahahaha!)

Dear Lily,
I don't think you have to worry about LisaMay getting lost. Like you, she knows where her next meal is, but if that sounds cold, let me assure you, she also knows where she is loved.

As for her being bossy sometimes, I gather that you two are very much alike, from the sounds of it. You know, she lets YOU sleep during the day, doesn't she? But you 'boss' her by making her play with you at 3:00 in the morning. That's awfully early for a human.

Do try to be kind and considerate about where you puke, too. I know it's asking a lot, but if my Prissy could do it, you can too. Prissy was MY cat (before Cleo) and when she had to vomit, she would jump off the bed and not even upchuck on a rug! She would make sure she was over tile.

Cleo hasn't learned that yet, but then she has only puked once, and I think it was because she got a little taste of a plant I had in the house. Prissy never used to bother with my potted plants, so it didn't occur to me to be sure none of them were toxic when I got Cleo. (Whew! We got very lucky that time. I only have one plant now, and it's up so high, even my acrobat kitty, Cleo, can't reach it.)

Your friend,
Dawn

Dear Lily,
I love your post. It is refreshing to have a pet POV. Although, I must say that you and Devlin have the same annoying habit. Devlin too pukes on my rug and most annoying of all, he will sit on my face to wake me up and feed him or just to cuddle. I find it easier to breathe without a cat on my face. If you could explain this odd behavior I would appreciate it.
Otherwise, I am glad that you enjoy sharing your home with LisaMay and your writing.
Best wishes,
Mary

Brilliant reversal of roles, and this should be a winner. I was trying today to write something creative but Sunny has already talked about some of his most endearing qualities and funny stories so I haven't got too far. Two different attempts so far. But I love yours with its humour and fun! Well done and best wishes.

I enjoyed hearing from Lily. I was hoping that she would give us a bit of juicy gossip about you, but she is loyal and kept all that to herself. She just confirmed that you are a good person and owner.
I was glad to hear that you are a free range pet. May you always be able to come and go as you please so that you will have more stories to tell us.

This is the classic pet/human interaction story and the final sentence really takes the biscuit or should I say the kibble. I felt like reading this to my dog, Penny but desisted when I realised she might insist on my being microchipped too.

I love how you've turned this around so Lily is writing about her obedient human. My own cat overlords would definitely approve. I particularly liked the bit about you being a free-range human - that gave me a knowing chuckle.

Thanks for a wonderfully natural read :-)

Mike
