A fun and funny take on the Favorite Things. Loved the picture and the trip down memory lane with penny loafers and real Christmas tree.
Well done and good luck.
Blessings

Thank you and smiling back!

This is a cute list of favorite things and I agree seeing a child's smile and admiring an eagle's flight and flowers are some of my favorites, too. I think the meter of the poem didn't quite match the song.
Best wishes in the contest!

You are so right and yes it is not perfect at all.

Beautifully written my friends, but following the song best in my head, one needs a feminine rhyme at the the first two lines in each verse, 11 syllables, and 10 syllables in the second two line with a single syllable at the end of the two last lines. Four syllables in the first three lines, (you've got five in the fist line) the last two lines aren't too bad. (I was a semi professional songwriter in another life) well done, good luck, blessings Roy

I should have done a template of the original lyrics, thanks for this input. My dance step is quite off with two left feet and being left-handed :)

Excellent entry for the ...My Favorite Things writing prompt Contest...
Your poem is very funny, I love your sense of humor.
Good poem with a great presentation and imagery. It flows well with descriptive words that paint a clear poetic vision..
Good luck in the contest.

By George, I think he or she has got it. They could write of rain on the plains in Spain to consummate that it is or was Eliza that wrote this piece of literature. Nice.

You chose a nice picture; you might have had a hard time finding a picture of corned beef hash. The poem has a nice ring to it and probably set Julie to dancing again. Best wishes.

Comment from Anne Johnston
Great job on this poem about using the pattern of the popular song. Although your favourite things are quite different from the original, they are all things that can be enjoyed. Thank you for this.

Haha - this is cute and I think you did a great job with this writing challenge. I happen to love that song so it was easy for me to keep the tune in my head. Well done. Regards, Lilly

Who could possibly have a problem with any of your favorite things? They must be everyone's favorite. "New tennis shoes" "paying with cash" You betcha these are some of life's better rewards.

There are so many things in life to appreciate. If we take the time to think about all the things we have to be thankful, we may live less stressful. I like that picture it is so cute. Thank you for sharing.
