Finally! Maybe! Warm weather! I love summer.
Maybe that is because I was born in June? No mater, where I live now I don't get enough summer. Three months if we are lucky. May Day tomorrow. The Hummingbirds will return now and the finches. We have already seen a few of the migratory birds. Well done, Yvonne. Good Luck. Nancy:)

I have hummingbirds already. They surprised me. I looked out one day, and there they were. I hurried around to fill their feeders. We have some birds year around, so I'm out when it's cold filling them up. I dread the horrible summer we have here. Thanks, Nancy.

Thank you for sharing this May Day writing prompt with us. Yes, May is a gorgeous month. Not only do we have beautiful flowers but new wildlife babies being born. I work hard to ensure my cats don't harm any newborn babies. It can be a hard task. I enjoyed reading this entry. The flow was especially cheery.

Thank you. I look forward to all the flowers, but dread the horrible heat we have here.

Yes, my roses are coming alive as well. Some are already in full swing of things, Mr. Lincoln, Knockout, and many more are in bloom. Well done, Arkie. Good to see you are also back in the swing of things.

Thank you so much, and thank you for the review. Glad your roses are doing well. I've been working in my garden, and things are looking good.

I loved this excellently written poem. The pictures of new life were written creatively with excellent rhythm and rhyme. I liked the personification of the blooms.

i enjoyed your poem about the the month of May. I love all the spring months. I imagine most of the cold temperatures are gone, at least in the part of the world where I live and I couldn't be happier.

I'm glad to see Spring, but I dread Summer. Thanks for reviewing.

-Nice artwork and presentation.
-A well written poem with effective imagery and rhyme.
-Many good descriptions of what makes May special,
like gardens blooming, showing "their cheery face,"
along with the baby birds and whippoorwills' song.
-Well done. Have a good day and weekend, too.

Good old ballad metre pressed into service for this modern equivalent of a traditional May carol. It encapsulates several of the traditional spring motifs. This year's Mayday coincides with a new moon too. Good to see you writing again, refreshed by your rest from it.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I'll look for that new moon if it isn't raining.
-
It will be a mere silver thread in the sky rising and setting early.
-
Thanks. I'll watch for it.

That's very beautiful. I think after a cold hard winter summers are more appreciated as a contrast than where I live. Your rhyme and metre are beautifully smooth, and the words express so well the excitement of May and the approach of summer. Best wishes for the contest.

May is one of my favourite months and you brought it to life here. Your poem is well metered and rhymed and full of fun, I hope May brings lots of joy to everyone just like your poem has for me today, love Dolly x

How lovely to see you here again, dear SATP! And what a lovely poem it is, too. The month of May is the time for so many glorious things, not least heralding the oncoming of Summer at the end of May. The bluebells are filling our woods now, and the deer are venturing out. Such a lovely month. Well done, my dear sister, this is a lovely contest entry. Good luck! :)) Sandra xx

I didn't get an email. Thank you for this lovely review. I'd love to see deer, but I'm in town. I do have racoons visiting every night, and lots of birds during the day. I'm loving this great weather before summer descends on us. We're supposed to get rain for the next few days. Yay!

I just had a look in my sent box, and it says I sent the message 23 hours ago. It was attached to your cat jokes, (so funny!) Have another look, if it's still not there, I'll send it again. I'm glad you are getting your lovely rain, lol, everyone else wants the sun, you want the rain!!! Lol. xxxx

Oh, I'm so sorry. Yes, I got that one. Thanks. Yes, I'm strange that way. I love rain.
