Poppy and Odi's Mission 2
by sandramitchell

I love the presentation ... it's like an illustrated children's book. I tried the Pixabay.com site but it didn't work in my phone ... I'll try in my laptop.

I like the idea of mermaids asking children for help.

I think you'll find it better on your laptop because there are so many pictures you can use. Just type in what you want, ie ghosts, demons, pussy cats or puppies! Anything.

Thank you so much for your nice comments on my children's book, it will be published with pages to colour as well. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Warm hugs. Sandra xxx

The story continues. It has child-friendly words. The lines are short and rhyme. Problems are overcome with magical thinking. The flow continues to be good.

A good read. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Sandra ~
YOur boy, Odi, does have a point! No one wants to become Jonah! lol
Still loving this story, sweet friend
And I love Pixabay, too. Did you know you can Google an image by subject ('mermaid'), then click 'image', then 'tools', and then select Creative Commons? Once something is in Creative Commons it cannot be removed and it can be used in any way you wish. I use them often. Also Max Pixel. I THINK he owns Pixabay, too.
Anyhow, loved the continuing tale!
Blessings,
Debs

Hi Debs, thank you!!! Yes, Odi isn't daft, it's a question I would have asked, so I'll be interested in the answer, Lol!!

I didn't know about that Google site, I've just popped in to look around, and Max Pixel. Thank you so much for telling me, that's going to help me out big time! Pixabay is brilliant, but sometimes I can't find what I want. My problem is, I have a picture in my head and look for that. I wish I could draw. Now, though, I have more places to look in. Thanks, my dear friend. I might be able to find what I want for part 3! Do you think I'll find a picture of a boy and girl standing inside a whale's mouth looking at a broken tooth??? LOL. Warm hugs and love, dear friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Hmm... Kids inside a whale's mouth looking at a tooth... Prob not! lol
Now... Next step. YOu can take pics from the sites and open them in paint.NET (free download, but it's a pain so be careful what button you push). Then you can adapt them, combine them and make your own pics. Then you can go to Lunapic.com and change them completely. lol. I fiddle with image s a lot and love to do it.
And ThaT'S WHY I OFFERED TO HELP, goofy! lol
There are tons of tutorials on YouTube if you get interested in pursuing it.
    Blessings, sweet friend!

    But you can

OH, Debs, I'd love your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have pictures in my head for this story and wish I could find them. Any help you can offer will sooooooooooo appreciated!!! I was so proud of myself for 'accidently' finding out how to add pictures in between stanzas, doing anything as creative as you have described, I'd need step by step instrucutions by someone who has a vast bottomless hole of patience!!!
Goofy!! LOL! I've just been to the dentist and he pulled a tooth at the back of my mouth with hammer and a digger! I have a black and blue bruise on my chin and cheek, and a fat lip! So I do look a bit goofy now! LOL!
Love you lots, dear friend. xxx

    You got it!
And ow you can tell people that Colin escaped from the book and socked you for having him locked up. lol
I'll post some articles here, if that will help. Not sure how quickly they'll come, but I'll start tomorrow with some sites for free images. It's not much, but it is a start. :)
Blessings, sweet girl! And heads up - bruises heal. (Although you did have me cringing about the dentist! Yikes!!!)
And the offer still stands for the illustrations, although they'll be a bit slow in coming. Email me at debsfiction2@yahoo.com

Hi Sandra,

Oh this is such a cute tale. I hope the children can help the whale with his bad tooth, but can they be so brave? ... I guess we will have to wait for the outcome of this predicament :(

Btw, Sandra... what is a Cube 16 poetry form? I tried looking it up on the Internet but could find nothing.

Have a great week, Sandra :))

Decisions will have to be made next week, so stay tuned! Lol. Thank you so much for your nice comments on this part, Senyai.

The Cube 16 form, is one our own Fanstorians invention. Robert Zimmerman....
Each line must only have four syllables, whether you have one, two, three of four words, and each stanza has four lines, making it a cube of 16 syllables altogether. You can have as many cubes as you want, (thank goodness!) So simple, yet so effective, especially for my children's poems. I'm delighted you enjoyed my Cube 16 poems. The next part will be coming soon. Thanks, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

What a wonderful and thoughtful children's tale you wrote, describing the killer whales dilemma. I'm keen to see what happens next. The illustrations too are beautiful. Pm

No, I wish I was, I have so many ideas in my head but I couldn't even draw a wobbly line very well!! These are from Pixabay.com I think I've forgotten to add that in my author's notes. I'll do that now. Thanks again, my friend. xx

Absolutely enjoyed this part of the story. I find it hard to rhyme and tell a story at the same time but you make it look effortless. Everything was well thought out and flowed incredibly well.

The queen seems to have figured out what to do. But the children will have to be very brave to climb inside that whale's mouth! I'm betting on them to do it. Then they will have a new whale friend forever.

This episode of your story is exciting, entertaining, educational, and uplifting--conveying a message about desperation and sincere efforts to help, in the face of more than one kind of danger.
