I love this story! It starts out with sad news, but it goes to show that we should never give up hope. Miracles happen. Some things cannot be explained. A beautifully written story! I'm impressed!
One note: the title is in first person while the story is in third person.

This has a very interesting ending. I am not sure I fully understand, unless the reason they weren't together is he had died earlier. Hmmm.
she kissed him and whispered "I love you." (comma needed after whispered)

My Mike was strolling through my thoughts yesterday, and thus the story just found its way into my head as well. I like to believe he is here with me and will be with me until the end. What a lovely thought of him escorting me to God's home... well, I hope that's where I will be going. Better not get too sure of myself. LOL Smiles as always, Carol

This is a beautiful story that runs through the emotions from sadness and fear to joy, taking us right along with the character. I love how you wove the story together. Well done. Blessings. Carol

You are so very kind, Carol. I was thinking a lot about Mike yesterday, and I imagined how wonderful it would be if that's the way it worked...Your loved ones escorting you to your new home... Well, I hope that's where I will be going. Better not get too confident. Beautiful images filled my mind and, thus, the story. thank you for the review and the beautiful stars. Smiles, Carol

Smiles to you also. Carol

I'm sure this is a reflection of being with Jesus, where He'll physically be with us, whereas He's only here with us in spirit. I know we will physically be as He is, with a renewed body, an eternal body, and we will dwell with Him evermore, well done, beautifully written Carol, blessings Roy

It is sad to think your time on earth is ending, but change is something we all fear. When you can think of it as a new beginning in forever it takes on a new and more beautiful meaning. This is a bittersweet romance with a lovely ending.

Good morning, Beth...I guess Mike was strolling through my thoughts yesterday (probably kicking out the criminals, lol), and this story came to me. I miss him terribly and know that someday we will be together, but for now, I still have so much to do. Smiles, Carol

I know. I miss my soulmate too. It is good to remember that there is better world awaiting where we'll never have to goodbye again.

Your story is very well written. Memories or dreams, sometimes it is hard to separate them. I like your stories that have a happy ending, and this is one of them.

Good morning, Anne... I prefer happy endings too. The world is already too sad so I don't want to add more gloom and doom in my short stories. Thanks for the kind review. Smiles, Carol

What a delightful story to wake up to! What starts with sadness ends in immeasurable joy. I love the way the "stranger" introduced himself earlier, so that Naomi would have faith and trust in him when the time came. I also liked that indiscernible line between imagination and reality. Very well done! (It's said that we walk with angels.)

Exactly! I was writing about the "round up" of criminals when I guess Mike decided to take a stroll through my thoughts... this story popped into my head and I had to write it. I am thrilled you enjoyed it, because I did too! Might sound dumb, but I think he was just telling me he's always here. Smiles, Carol

Doesn't sound dumb at all. We talked with the "burning man" about people coming back to us.

Wow, this is a powerful little story, Carol, filled with so many emotions. The story is very subtly told and brought us through the sadness to a happy ending. Well done.

Good morning, Judy... Not quite sure where this story came from, but suddenly it was in my head while I was working "rounding up" criminals. LOL One had nothing to do with the other so I stopped and wrote it. Glad you enjoyed it. I liked the ending. Smiles, Carol

Good morning, LeAnn. How awesome to receive your review and the six stars for a story I have no idea where it came from. I was working on the "round-up" of criminals and suddenly this idea popped into my head. I stopped and wrote it... I liked it too! Especially the ending! I guess Mike must have been roaming around my thoughts somewhere... Smiles, Carol

What a romantic poem! She's waited for him all that time and then he appears now. It must have been the time for her to leave earth and he came to get her. Thanks for sharing!
