Absolutely a lovely, lovely tale of happy love you spin here. How can one not be totally delighted in the stories you spin with such ease.

Thank you again, my dear friend. Children's poems and stories keep my mind free of sadness, and it's nice to know you like them too. (not so old face, I'm sure!) xsx Sandra.

This is just too cute. It is fun to know where Timmy and Tommy came from. Really well done as always. Looking forward to more stories. rox

Thank you, Rox, Corrina put the illustration on Facebook and I sent her the poem, she gave me the illustration then and I let her have my poem! I thought it was a good way to show how Hedgerow started. I am really pleased you enjoyed it. How are you? xsx Sandra

What a fun poem to read!
Meter and rhyme were invisibly there, and the story was simply adorable!
A fairy tale romance, played out in a fairy tale world :-)
Nice writing :-) :-) :-)

Lovely poem for children and my own grandchildren raising questions in the text that they might ask about adding to their knowledge of life. Excellent rhyme and rhythm.

thank you so much, Alan. How are you at dealing with those questions? I am waiting to see if my sons can answer them better than I could. LOL, children will not be satisfied until they get the truth. Thank you again for the lovely review. xsx Sandra

What a lovely poem that children will love. Four good stanzas in rhyming couplets. Reading your author notes I see you have written a book 'Hedgerow Capers' and this poem is the beginning. And you are a published writer. Congratulations - that's wonderful. I see you live in Southampton - hope you are surviving the weather. Regards Dorothy

Thank you, Dorothy, so pleased you enjoyed it. Yes, just outside Southampton, we are fine, but there are many floods around us. How are you coping, I see you are from the South West, we have a son in Torquay, but high up, so the rain hasn't affected him. What part are you from? There is another writer on here from that area, he writes children's stories too. Thank you again for your lovely review. xsx Sandra.

Hi - I live near Bath. Plenty of water in the fields but nothing like the Somerset Levels - poor people - imagine being out of your home for six weeks. Nice to hear from you. Dorothy

Nice to hear from you too. We are planning a day trip to Bath sometime in the summer, it is one place I have never been to. I know it is lovely there though. I am glad you are not in any danger of being flooded out! It has been terrible this winter. Take care. Sandra.

What a wonderful bed time story to read to a small child. The mouse has always been a favourite creature for such stories and the rhyme in this one is so easy to read. Your two awards are well deserved - congratulations.

My dear friend, thank you so much! I hope they enjoy the story. And thank you for the 6 lovely stars! Yes, I am getting through the days, one day I will wake up and be able to think of mum without the tears. Until then I am going to write for children, nothing depressing with those!! Thank you, Christine, for asking. You are such a dear friend. xsx sandra

You're welcome Sandra and you are a dear friend to me too. It's a strong relationship of love that makes parting so painful. You're entitled to tears my friend, and I know that things will gradually get a little easier...all in your own time and with the help and comfort of the Lord. When my dad died 23 years ago, I cried every day for 3 months (what with him being the only parent I knew) - not to the same degree each day though, and yet even a year or two or three later, it could feel like yesterday. It's lovely that you're able to write children's stories in the midst of your sorrow - that's so precious! Speak to you soon. Love and blessings, Christine xx

But for now they were babies and needed their sleep,
and the fun and excitement would all have to keep.
This is just so cute. It reads well. I wish i had kids to read it to, while they were tucked in bed waiting for sleep.

sandramitchell: Oh, such a lovely children's story! I can picture myself reading this to my great-grandson who is two years old. It tells such a comforting story of two people in love, marriage and a wonderful family after adding two babies. Most of us don't have fairytale beginnings like that, hense, why it is so comforting. Nice job! livelylinda
