You speak the truth. The simple old traditions and solutions fall on deaf ears, as kids engage with their technology, lost in a world of anonymous social media. Great alliteration. Nicely written with solid message.

good alliteration in tried and true
I love the idea of our easy/fast solution society as micro-wave world - good satiric social commentary :-) Brooke

Very true, that indeed our world wants answers now. I think we are so used to technology doing all the work that we have forgotten that it takes time, trail and error to get things done right. All of us are used to pushing a button and, voila, there it is. Coffee, push a button and it gets poured. Want to know the answer to the capitol of Kazakhstan, push buttons and, presto, there is the answer thanks to Google. It is really sad, if you sit and think about it. All the best in the contest and well done on your fine entry.

I love the picture. The world does need to slow down. The micro-wave gives us instant food. I remember the days of old fashioned cooking. Cooking a roast until it was fork tender. Real mashed potatoes with gravy made from the broth of the roast. Peas fresh picked from the garden and last a apple pie made with apples picked from my own tree. Great work. Good luck with the contest.

What a surprisingly graphic image 'microwave world' is! The metaphor of food is such an apt one. Where are all those old recipes, slow cooking the flavours into delicious stews? Where, too, the wisdom in this frenetic world of ours?

good luck in the contest
your 5-7-5 has all the required components
the three line count
the required 17 syllable count
your few words allow the reader to see and feel that the message and answers of the past era don't fit with todays micro world
good alliteration in
"tired" "true"
"world" "wave
flows well
cheers Smoothiecool

The modern world has changed a lot of the ways we perceive things, but the old ways still carry validity.
Love the use of micrwave.
Well done.

Tried and true answers
Sound old fashioned to our youth
In Micro-wave world
So true. . .so true.
I can't imagine how parents these days get through. Between the cell phones, tablets and food in a flash - how do you get them to pay attention for more than 30 seconds!!
Nice write :-)
(some might think a - is needed in old fashioned, but as I understand it, either way is acceptable :-)

This was well written, and true. Some youths today wants what they want when they want it. Your 5-7-5 syllable count is in good order. Nicely written.
