Arg - I'd like to wring Sara's neck. LOL She needs to get over her fears and jump that man! lol She's frustrating.
Only one snag -
Matt walked over Cassie's bed, - I think you meant 'walked over TO Cassie's bed'. ;)
I've missed you. I hope your Christmas was beautiful! Happy New Year.

I thing that the flow of this is really fine. I am jumping in the middle of that and that is rather difficult, but I must say, your writing is most engaging. Now I am left with the pleasant task of starting over...LOL Paul

Oh, Barbara, this is quite a disappointing reaction from Sara and I sincerely hope she changes her perspective and attitude towards Joe. Great narrative, very well penned with excellent detailed descriptions and strong dialogue. Very well done, my friend.

I think Sara has some soul searching to do. Thank you for your kind review.

Oh boy, here we go again. I was enjoying Cassie's homecoming and the banter with George, then Sarah had to ruin it. Her insecurities and paronia is somewhat understandable based on her past, but really aggravating. A part me wants Joe to go and find happiness with someone else, he's been patient, loving and helpful in every phase of their relationship and deserves better than what he's getting in return. Please work on Sarah internally, or Joe will be an unhappy man. Whew, glad I got that out...lol. Take care. Happy New Year!

Lady barbara.wilkey,
Thee is nothing like another side to a person you thought you knew well to color every action thereafter.
Don't ask and don't tell was always a harbinger of disaster.
Years after the fact, even as civilians, people in the nuclear propulsion arm of the Navy will not talk about aspects of the controls or weaponry aboard those ships.
That had to be a strain on their marriages. With the subs, they never knew where the sailor was when at sea for their three month cruise.
Well characterized and complemented by appropriate dialogue.
Nicely done,
Fantasist

Looks like Cassie might consider going into the Secret Service in the future. It's scary that so many young girls fall for these internet traps. This is definitely a growing concern.
Though I've not managed to keep up with your chapters, I had no problem following this.
You're not the same sensitive, loving, tolerant, caring man I fell in love with.
This is a minor point but I read somewhere when listing things or values, try to stay within 3, as readers' attention strays after that. You have 4 here - sensitive, loving, tolerant, caring. More than anything, I find that this may not sound so natural in dialogue - for someone to list so many values. Just my thoughts.

Cassie seems pretty resilient after her experience. No ill effects? I know you want this to be a romance and have a happy ending, but if Sara can't handle Joe's compartmentalized life the relationship is doomed to failure. He is very much two different people and one of them sometimes does very violent things--all for a good cause, but violent none-the-less. In real life, he would be trying to discourage the relationship because he knows this and knows she doesn't have the stomach for it. Few marriages survive a special operations career. Nancy
