I love Aboriginal Legends. This will heighten the plot: "Bangarra would not tell because he wanted the water for himself." I like the possibilities: "Then Gula, the rat, the smallest of all the animals said he could follow Bangarra but all the other animals laughed at him," The story changes: " Gula jumped out from hiding and frightened Bangarra away, and all the other animals praised Gula for what he had done."

I found this story to be inspirational and unique--I do not know much about the Australian culture and of course would love to visit but you give so much information in this writing--I love the part how the animals were so happy for bubbling water something that we too often take for granted--great job.

This is a wonderful story written in the way of the storytellers of old, who handed down the myths and taught the way to live in an oral tradition of storytelling.I read stories such as this for children, who invariably love them. If you do not mind my noting there are a couple of very long sentences that could be broken up a little, and I noticed and a possible typo in the last paragraph,'swan' should maybe be 'swam'. Great Job. I look forward to reading some more.
