They say the first seven years lay the foundations, and as you say Roy, many children come from decaying and cracked foundations. A very dramatic black and white presentation that goes well with this topic. We'' written, Roy.
cheers,

This is such important message! Words are powerful and often leave an indelible mark. Why is it that we so often remember the words that are most hurtful? Thank you, Roy.

We are remembered by our actions by contemporaries. However, by subsequent generations, we are remembered by our children. Children are a treasure from the Lord. What the future knows about us, they learn through our children.

What a haunting picture that drew me in. That last stanza was powerful. You find obscure words with such meaning and power. "Hide like lepers in fates holes." "Garments cloaked in blood." We need your gifted voice in broken world.

Things that happen to a child can scar his or her life forever. Having to endure school bullies is one problem. Some grow up in homes with abusive parents who may be alcoholics or drug addicts. I have read stories of successful people who have made it despite their poor start in life. All children deserve a good start in life. I like your description of the tormented children hiding in leper's holes. Great rhyme, but why is there a Y after flood in the second stanza? judi

The saying that "sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never hurt me" remains as false today as it ever was. Sometimes, in fact usually, emotional scars last forever.

So many children all over the world are doing it so tuff, whether it be war or just the ignorance of grownups, as you say, their childhood pain will grow with them, an excellent poem, subject, and message****kahpot

Sadly, there are too many children are scarred and robbed of their childhood. Of course, even one would be too many.
Powerful message Roy.
Blessings

Hi Roy,
This poem so beautifully written, resonated deeply with me. I often think of this very thing that is happening across America and indeed repeated across the world. There are so many examples to witness of losing our children scarred by social media, unqualified teachers in classrooms. So many are bullied constantly and all forms of belittling and taunting abound. Your message to hold our posterity as a treasure as they should be regarded, benefits everyone! Excellent verse!
All the best,

Abused children, are not just those who are physically harmed, but those who grow up too 'entitled'. This also leads to great imbalance in how they perceive the world. You are correct In saying that only God can bring everlasting healing to this world, but as parents we can certainly do our part, not perfect, but with love and financial imput when and where there is the need.
