How good is this. Factually written. Obviously by a farmer. They only consider reality; income and expense. Scarecrows require no feeding, GOOD. Conversely they just stand out in paddocks producing nothing. BAD. 50/50 Pretty much like your kids.
A solid write.

Poor scarecrow...Makes me think of the the wizard of oz. He found a home and a place out of the sun.
Your poem runs well is easy to follow and enjoyable. If you wrote it for a contest good luck!

Mr scarecrow has actually seen it all through the seasons and time. Your poem captured the lonely life of a scarecrow. Thanks for sharing your hilarious thoughts, dear Gansach. Have a lovely moment.

Of course, one's mind seems to speed to the scare crow in the Wizard of Oz. Because that's what he was looking for was a heart, but he already had the metaphorical heart that we're looking for, beautifully written, blessings Roy

You made me smile with this post about your empathy for the scarecrow! I have noticed in France they have some amusing scarecrows. I once saw a giant spider in the field and I was terrified, but the birds also kept their distance. Your poem has a smooth flow and I enjoyed the humorous sentiments, love Dolly x x x

What a sweet poem and i must say, you gave me a different perspective on a scarecrow. They usually scare me to death since I watch so many horror movies and they are always portrayed as evil. I will take into consideration now that some of them might be good. lol Nicely written.

This is so beautiful. I was once a small child on my grandfather's farm. I would climb part way up the windmill to find where in the corn rows he was plowing. I had been given the job of taking him a large canning jar of water. So I looked for the dust flying never really seeing him..but If came upon the old scarecrow I would turn and go another way. You have made me friends with that poor creature that I long ago feared! Thank you!
