Patti fears Angelo murdered his friend, but he reassures her even as he is uncertain about trusting Garth. Donatelli knows Patti is not telling him the whole truth, but she has a reason to be very afraid.

I think we are about to bring a lot of clues together and start circling the wagons around the bad guys. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. Smiles, Carol

Wait...What? Is this evil man of the German crumpled cigarette package and discarded vial? (I need to speak to Elanor...could you have her drop by anytime this afternoon?) Poor Patti-- seems like she's getting squeezed...and that doesn't bode well.

OH my.

More chapters to read?

This is terrific...

You might be the first to pick up on that cigarete package...Good one!

Eleanor's been very busy...she's with Angelo and now she's got to make a quick jaunt to Jenna and then Charles expects her home tonight. No wonder the lady is tired.

And yes, Patti is getting squeezed and things aren't going to well for her. She still thinks she's got the upper hand but she will soon learn she doesn't even have any cards in the game.

Every ten guesses on where you are heading I may get one right...

Which is great because your plot twists are so interesting!

This is another captivating chapter filled with additional suspenseful twists. I'm glad both Eleanor and Garth are back on the scene, but now we have Patti thinking she will inherit lots of money. But, there is an unidentified stranger threating her. This is an additional twist. I'm looking forward to what danger Patti is in. As the plot thickens, we still have a way to go.

Wow, you've even scared me with your descriptions, and as most people would tell you, I'm not usually afraid of anything. Not always a beneficial trait. Thanks for sharing.

LOL I couldn't imagine you being afraid... after all isn't Tucker part of you! Hope you are enjoying your weekend and thank you for taking the time to rad another chapter. My mind is already racing ahead to the third book in the series and if I must say so myself I think if all goes the way I see it...it will be the best one yet.

I could still feel Naomi's fear of Carlos, even though he is now dead. I really hope that they manage to keep Naomi and the papers safe, but I fear that things are going to get a bit messy for Naomi. I love how you keep ticking the tension up a notch with each chapter, Carol. I really enjoyed it, I'm looking forward to the next one.

I'm hoping Angelo and Eleanor can work things out for Naomi...yes, she helped cover up a murder, but she was forced to do it. Garth has a soft side at times... I'll have to work on it.

Angelo seems to be having a difficult time with Carlos's death. It looks like Patti is not her ex-husband's beneficiary, and Naomi is. Is everyone in love with Naomi?!! OK, now who's in the room with Patti, with his hands on her throat? Good chapter. Lots of good dialogue and lots of suspense. Hugs & smiles! Carol

No...just Angelo. Donatelli thought there might be a shot, then he was just angry, followed by guilt. And Patti...well, she's got her hands full and not with money.

Garth does rub a few people up the wrong way, but Eleanor is great at sorting them out. Patti Becket is not a nice person at all, but it seems she is in far deeper trouble than ever with the appearance of this threatening man. What hold over her, does he have, I am wondering ...
Well written.

Fear and the fact she was married to ARthur Becket might have a great deal to do with it. As for Garth..grief has played a big part on him but I think in the next of the series...he's going to mellow out.

Oh dear, I'm sorry, Carol. I've been reading your short stories but have got behind on this one. A quite complicated array of characters and a lot of suspicion directed at Naomi but, in particular, Patti, who's really feeling the full force of this strange man's anger. It's always a pleasure to see the ghosts appear when things are getting heated. Thanks for sharing. Take care Debbie

Not to worry, Debbie. I appreciate any time you can give to reading my efforts. The novel is getting close to wrapping up and the shorts have been a fun time to write. I appreciate that you enjoy my work and I thank you.

I wonder who this threatening guy is, He's a fly in the ointment, but poor Patti, hasn't she suffered enough? It seems to be coming the the pointy end of the story, with Angelo showing his love for Naomi, and her being in a hospital of a gangster, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Eleanor seems to get tired a lot, You've given ghosts some interesting traits. There seems to be rules to follow about being allowed to appear or not appear. Some die and others become ghosts and keep living but can be old and tired. Some decide to stay around and work as assistants. As a writer you can control what they do. This story has all sorts of twists and turns.

Eleanor has been Eleanor since the beginning and does a lot of investigating amd Danni was young, a junior ghost so to speak, and now after breaking rules, I think she will be allowed to be just like Eleanor...that's enough ghosts as I see it. Thanks for sticking it out with me. This one is about to wrap up and then a breather I think until November if I decide to do the Book In A MOnth deal again.
    Thanks as always, Carol
