This was sad, with the emotion well-handled. It was perfectly paced for the content. I think I would have liked to hear more about the responses of his other friends in the story, and definitely detail of the disease in the notes (I don't know this one). Well-written, well-done.

This is a nice story. I like it, and it's a cool story about Charlie, but I think it could have been a good story without the bad language in paragraph 3. It would be a great story if you changed that.

You described Charlie well. I could see him as he cooked the burgers etc. Your story flows smoothly with good details about him and the place he lived. I like the ending though poignant--putting the token in his coffin.

This happened quite a few years ago. He was still one of the best guys I ever worked with.
