A lovely spiritual free verse as you tell 'mankind's story' through hands. Healing hands, helping hands, hardworking hands all reaching out. Well done with your interpretation for this challenge JLR
cheers.

Hands are supposed to tell us so much about one particular aspect of a person. Callused hands-a worker, long slim fingers-a pianist, manicured hands-a white collar worker and so on.
The hands you speak of span centuries and a multitude of situations from the nail pierced hands of Jesus, to the hands which hold a baby, and hands which give comfort, and hands which are held in prayer.
Well written and I spotted no spam.
Warmly,
Juliette

A poet I am not, but I am blessed to read and find enjoyment in the words you offer. My heart and soul tells me our Lord felt the nails through his hands, and held to the pain, so that we could live, and spread his word. I believe he walks with us every day.
Smiles, Carol

Kudos, JLR
Exquisite and realistic imagery is found in your exceptionally well-crafted free verse offering!
I so appreciate your descriptive imagery.
My favorite stanza is the last, for it reminds me of my husband, father, and grandfathers:
Hands time-worn creased with wrinkles
reflect the life of a hardworking man
reverently placing a palm against palm,
while on bended knee, sends praises of thanks
of a long well-lived life.
My favorite verse of yours this year!
Thank you for sharing!

Your free verse poem is reverent, deeply moving, and vividly descriptive of the significance of hands--Jesus's, which were nail-scarred for our sakes,
those who gently hold offspring, those that partake of nature for sustenance, those that meet in prayer.

The author's words are heartfelt, descriptive, thought provoking,
gentle and creative. I pondered on "Hands" as I read these words.
And, how are hands are such an important part of "Mankind". The
poem flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome!
