Tim wus a cowboy,
Back when cowboyn' wus tuff'.
His life wus very hard
And his manner ruff'.
He didn't believe in bein' gentle,
It show's weakness in a man.
"You gotta be tuff
To be a top hand."
He wusn't very poplar'
With the wimmen, fer sure.
He always had an oder
Kinda like horse manure.
His hair wus never combed.
His teeth tobaccy stained.
He wus like a wild horse
That couldn't be tamed.
One day, he met Lilly,
A widder lady, they say.
He soon became a changed man,
In ever' kinda way.
He bought some new duds
And slickered down his hair.
He got rid of the old stuff,
Right down to his underwear.
Lilly wus a looker,
Way too good fer him
But, the only man she looked at
Wus that ornery cuss Tim.
Now, he talks a lot,
When before he never spoke
I guess even the wildest critter
Can be halter broke.
Nobody could really tell,
Whut Lilly saw in him.
But now she's known as the widder lady
that saddle broke wild Tim.
