in lovers eyes
where once the ardent
flame did glow
Is naught that love
has left the heart
but mellowed sweet
to comfort soul
It once shined bright
with youth's delight
it beamed with smile
to fuel the night
lover's embrace
could not be quelled
nor spirits dampen
this magical spell
